Haha you can tell you're not totally Dutch yet when talking about Lelystad... "in all honesty, it's not the prettiest city in the world" vs. (how we would say it) "Lelystad is an ugly city"

A dutch person here. Her dutch is quite good. It really amazes me. She should visit the more rural areas

Interesting to hear how a simple young woman talks about The Netherlands, especially what she picked up from this country in the short time she was here. She manages to say things in a better and deeper way than many of the more intellectual types who talk about The Netherlands. I think it was really heartfelt. And therefore a good video. But she's obviously an American, still.

I watched your video because I am Dutch and chauvinistic enough to get some positive feed back once in a while. I was not expecting a christian touch at the end. You did not convert me, not even close although that is not the point. I would like to express my genuine respect for you because you are one of the first I come across where I can feel the love for and believe in God is so apparant... and radiant, I felt it. I also feel your love for God is a bit mixed with homesickness and true love for someone as I understand but hey... you are way ahead of me in my attempts to fix atheism in my head. I have lived in the Netherlands for 18 years end left iv seen many countries In Europe and lived there but the most I Germany. And trust t me holland was the best in almost everything very healthy to live In my story is to big to typ. I'm trying about for 3 years to come back to holland it's very hard to come back I have Dutch passport and it's still hard I hope I can come back oneday🙄

Wow, I never expected you would like Zoetermeer the most out of everything there is to see in The Netherlands, even though I was born there.. I hate that place. xD Its pretty much one big suburb with a shopping mall in the centre. You should visit The Hague!

Most people in Lelystad are people who could not afford to stay in Amsterdam anymore. So they are relatively poor, and have lots of problems, which you can detect when you walk there. Since the city was build 'all at once', it lacks the historic center and nice architectural layers of the other cities. The best part of flevoland is going outside the cities, and into nature.

That honestly REALLY depends on the people.... A lot of people are closed as well, and not so open. It is because you live outside the netherlands. Then they are willing to help you. As a normal dutch person it is a bit different :)
