I've been to Armenia five times, and I never heard of Kond before. It's hard to tell if the charm of the neighborhood is its rustic architecture or your skillful videography of dilapidated buildings shown with blue sky and sunset. How is it that you became familiar with that part of Yerevan?
Well it’s a long story but when I first moved to Yerevan I always liked to get lost and look for new interesting places especially with historical significance. Kond is actually less than a 5 minute walk from my previous apartment I lived in for over 2 years, so I would visit it weekly.
I have been to Armenia many times and as you say I had never heard about Kond. I wonder why this visitor insists on showing us this part of my beautiful Armenia. 😡
Should be a World Heritage site and thus protected from developers! Before it's gone forever I don't need to go to Armenia to gawk at a posh hotel! Thanks for posting!!💕🇦🇲
I’m sure there are or have been several, however most recently I can remember was Kond District Rehabilitation Project last year. Most of the projects are aimed towards urban development and architectural decision making in preservation.
The main problem is that the government doesn’t always take the initiative to preserve old buildings here (sometimes they do) and they either collapse or people “restore” them in a way they want which is what you see in Kond and other areas of the city.
I hope you're joking, cause Armenia IS in West Asia/Caucasus/Middle East. If we look European and some people have European mindset, doesn't mean we are European. Our culture is closer to Middle Eastern countries the most, even the food we have.
@@yoovictorymin4247 no sir. I talking about Armenia never was Caucasian or Asia. Armenian culture Armenian history always was Eroupean 🇦🇲🇪🇺✝️ Armenian Nagoya ⛰️✝️ And Armenia it Eroupean nation✝️ . Armenia was occupied Persian empire,Osman empire, and Russian empire. But soon Armenia will be in Eroupean Union 🇪🇺🗽
@@streetmagic1 I'm myself an Armenian, was born here and live among Armenians, I'm sorry but our culture is not European, yeah it has some both European and Asian traits because of occupations,influences... Also fyi Asia doesn't only mean Korea, China, Japan. Middle East is also in Asia hence Armenia is in Asia. Forgot to say Caucasian countries participate in many European things like shows, programs, political companies idek what else but that doesn't mean they're European. We Armenians think of ourselves as Caucasian

@@yoovictorymin4247 you are insane. I guess you are from Middle East and I know Armenians are distorting even they food calling Middle Eastern food as Armenian while Lahmajun Shawarma etc that's Middle Eastern food not Armenian and there are Arab food that Armenians are calling that Armenian. Stop to distort Armenian culture ok? Being arabaized converted Middle Eastern by loo with beards and spiritually it doesn't mean whole Armenian nation indenty is Asia/Middle East or if in Armenia we have Middle Eastern food. Even Italian kingdom took Armenian kingdom title. Do you think an Europe's kingdom would tool Asian kingdom title ? I don't think so. If some Armenians like you became Arab Middle East it doesn't mean whole nation is like that. I don't understand what Asian think we have so? Architecture is Asian? What culture you mean is Asian? We eat on the ground? Wearing like Middle East, our home decor style are Middle Eastern as in Iran Iraq etc? OMG. Even in Iran in living room they leave empty in middle part and leaning on the wall many armchairs. We don't do that. Ours are European. Armenians are Europeans culturally historically politically. Even EU define us European country European people. It depends on people like you who doesn't realize it.
The territory of Modern Armenia is simultaneously part of Transcaucasia, the northeastern edge of the historical Armenian Highlands and the north of Mesopotamia ...The South Caucasus is a recent artificially created political term. Armenia and Armenians have nothing to do with the Caucasus historically, ethnically, linguistically, geographically and mentally. Armenia correlates with the Balkans and Asia Minor of the pre - Islamic / pre - Turkish period .
