As someone who never had the choice of going to college and recently ran into a dead end with their job this just feels like the perfect film for me to watch, it isn’t an answer to any of my problems and isn’t an escape but just feels like I’m sitting down and listening to someone sharing a similar experience

The cinematography in this is just amazing

I've been struggling a lot lately. But everything about this video has made me feel... calm. I don't know why. Maybe the audio design, your calming voice, the colors, the shots, or maybe it's the venting nature of the video. But no matter the reason, thank you.

My sister had to move back to our house last summer after moving far away and having bad mental health and being unmotivated without schools curriculum. yesterday she just moved into her new home with her bf who she would've never met if she didn't move. She wanted to move away from home, somewhat run away to find a new her but i think she realized how isolating it is and how connected she was to the people in our small town. I hope one day i make those mistakes and find myself in somewhere where i belong. I wish u all the best experiences and laughs someone could get in life.

I'm 52 and unfortunately life didn't turn out the way I expected either. I had big dreams and ideas when I graduated high school. Well two failed marriages and a lot of frustrating moments, I think I am finally figuring out, that life isn't suppose to be easy, or at least too easy. I'm not a millionaire, and will probably never be, I live on disability, so I certainly am not rich, but I have my family and a few good friends and at the end of the day, I guess that is really all you need.

You will never regret chasing your dreams more than the thought of “what could have been if I did”. Love the channel and this video was really great.

I found your channel when you made the freshman year trailer. I loved the film as a Diary of a Wimpy Kid fan and someone who also used to make skits and short films with my friends before I made gaming content. I haven't kept up too much with the channel since then, but when I saw this video I had to click. I just gotta say wow, this channel has really evolved into something amazing. The cinematography, the music, the editing, the words, the structure... all so well thought out and beautiful. I'm pretty much at the same point in my life, so I can relate so much to this and I was tearing at the ending. I don't think any other youtube video has ever made me tear up. I really look forward to what you make in the future, keep it up man.

this perfect short film came at the perfect time for me as i just graduated a few months ago and i’m still trying to figure out what i want to do with the money and time i have available and it’s tough, especially doing it alone. i’ve always been a perfectionist and high achiever so i was feeling like a failure, but this reminded me it’s okay to be at this point in life and not have everything planned out and i can’t be perfect at everything i want to because that’s not reality. thank you

this really hits close to home as in a day I'm seeing my exam results and its finally the end to my education in secondary school after 5 years, it's so easy to get caught up in what you haven't done and what you miss about the past, but there's so much ahead and going on around me.

This video made me feel alive. I'm going into my junior year of high school and starting college classes, and I think I have everything planned out. But, I also feel a longing for the past and having a fear of growing up. I feel like you get too many responsibilities too fast. I don’t know if you will read my comment, but I’m on the verge of tears. High school graduation for myself was five years ago and a lot has changed in a project sense and personal life. During my college experience I’ve went from being on a dead end career path freshmen year to doing what I love with a passion which is film like you Luke. At 23 I still live with my parents but I don’t view it as embarrassing it’s more so insightful because without them I would’ve never imagined myself today with a developing script, a willingness to draw more than ever, original poetry, etc. In short this year has been a roller coaster but I’m glad about where I’m at and you can too Luke.

I'm crying right now, and before the feeling leaves I want to let you know what I think. I'm 17 right now, and I'm still going to be when I start college this fall. I'm going there with a jazz piano scholarship, and right when I get there I'm going to do an ensemble placement audition. Music and drawing comics are my two chiefest passions, but I'm so scared to really follow them. This crippling fear of failure and coming up short on the best that I can be is always in the back of my mind. I have big wild dreams of releasing my own albums and writing and illustrating amazing stories, but how one even gets there is still a mystery to me. Your channel has reaffirmed to me the power of just sitting down and doing the damn thing, and letting what happens happen. Thank you for doing what you do and being vulnerable through your growing pains. I love your work and it makes me feel less alone. I'm trying to be better about telling people when they make me feel that. You really capture the zeitgeist in an honest, beautiful way that is unique and engaging. Don't stop!

This is beautiful art and very relatable. I understand the feelings of no college, trying and failing again and again at new projects, etc. Never give up because you guys have the sauce.

As an artist it's sometimes so difficult to feel creative, even when you know you are. You get so wrapped up in your work that sometimes you feel it's all you have and outside of what you do you're either nothing or not enough. Even when you try your best to remove yourself from what you create you're still in it somewhere, even if its hard to find, because you are your work. Anything you've ever made, that you're proud of, that you hate, that you're still on the fence about, that's you. The best part about being an artist is learning from your successes just as much as your own self-proclaimed failures. All we do is try and ride that wave of inspiration, afraid that it's going to fizzle out into the sea, maybe awaiting for it to become a tsunami and for it to destroy other parts of our lives in the process. No matter what, your art is who you are and it is there for you on your bad days and your good days to help you get by. It's really more than an outlet, it's everything. And although I’m happy with the new path that my life has taken; it’s very easy to be upset that it took a different path at all. This was pretty nice to see, as someone about to head into his freshman year of college wanting to pursue film and not really wanting to go to school, lol. Been feeling some doubts about it all lately, so it was comforting and moving to watch this perspective from someone a year ahead of me.

i know i’m so late on this, but i don’t know if you realize how touching this is. this struck me right in the soul, a slap on the face, a rush of cold water after fainting. this beautiful work of art reminded me that we aren’t alone and have the same struggles. i have felt so torn and trapped and afraid for the future, especially since i’m taking a gap year. but growth is so real. it’s been a while since i’ve last reached out at all, and i don’t think it even matters. i think i’m going to come back to this over and over and over again. i have never once heard any poem so raw and beautiful at more of a perfect time than this. i look up to you tremendously. you are doing so so much and will only accomplish so much more, but you already knew that :)

this is one of the best short films i’ve ever seen. i have this real niche interest for video diaries that act as short films in their own right, and now i might just make my own because of this one right here. been following since freshman year and i’ll keep supporting until i die

Thank you deeply man. I really beat myself up over having so many unfinished projects and failing to get into healthy routines and this video really helped me to see all that in a new light, to look at what you've succeeded in rather than what you've failed to do. I left high school last year as well although I have nowhere near the wisdom you've got! I fell into really bad sleeping patterns and became pretty depressed, just constantly at war with myself in my own mind. Not much has changed unfortunately, and starting a uni degree last September didn't help. But thank you, it's comforting to hear how you could envision your life in a new perspective. Gives me some hope for my aspirations.

as someone whos going into their first year of highschool im so nervous and excited to start this new chapter in life. thinking about how when its over i can finally be unapologetically me and really do what i want to. but after watching this video i realize that i was really daydreaming it. i mean i’ve always been a what if person especially with planning out my future, but i mean i never thought about what exactly would and could go wrong. its not certain you’ll get into that school or get that job. no matter how much i plan and dream and achieve, whats written is written. i understand you also are still discovering life, but thank you. this video really gave me a better idea of the future and life after school. its going to be rocky and difficult, its not like you get a handbook for it. but its also going to be a beautiful and exciting journey, and i can’t wait to start the beginning of it.
