We met Aaron & Heidi when they were on a mutual friend’s boat sailing from Cabo to San Diego about 12 years before this. Hard work, fortitude, a strong mindset, planning, dreaming - all of this - they had, have & did! 🍾🎉
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico ha ha! We went from a 50’ Columbia monohull to a 49’ Ocean catamaran and now have, live in & travel full time in a Grand Design Imagine XLS 17MKE - a less than 22’ overall travel trailer. In our 38th state right now!
Funny how those old FG boats built in Taiwan and Hong Kong are such tanks--and such beautiful woodwork below. They were way overbuilt by today's standards. Slow but indestructible if maintained.
Renting is tough. I have one video about higher end rentals and I'm working on one about lower end rentals. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CLBu1j_YGE4.html To buy: diamanterealtors.com/listings-real-estate-la-paz-any-price/ is a big firm. bajaliferealty.com/ - we bought from these guys. Most websites share properties that they aren't listing. So if you go to a few sites, you'll see some crossover.
I love your videos. This one really hit home. My husband and I have been living on our sailboat part-time while we get ready for retirement. We hope to set sail full-time in a couple years. Thank you so much for this amazing video and information. ❤
This couple on their boat are living my fantasy. I am retired, still physically active. Stuck in one spot unable to leave and have responsibilities. I have a little sailboat for day sailing and instead of enjoying that I am rolling around in the dirt fixing things. Responsibilities and no remedy in site. Waaa, waaaa, I know I am a cry baby.
Very cool vid. Here is something fun for you. I too sailed a boat from San Francisco to Cabo, La Paz, and all the way up to San Felipe back in the 80's. I was 12 years old when we left Alameda. Alameda is a small island in San Francisco bay, and I grew up with Heidi and her sister Jackie. We have been friends since we were kids. I too now live in Cabo, semi retired and loving it. I was in a magazine called Latitude 38 about my life as a kid cruising and Heidi worked for that mag later on. And we also belonged to the same yacht club in Alameda. Loved watching their story put into video. Great job. Hello Heidi and Aaron, look forward to seeing you when you get back!!
Just returned from my first trip to La Paz. Other than the August heat wave is was a magical place. Cannot wait to get back and start looking for a place to retire. Absolute jewel of a town.❤
One of my favorites to date, Brighton! Thank you. As members of the Columbia River Yacht Club here on Hayden Island (Portland, OR), we've met several members that frequent La Paz. As will we soon.
That's great! Do you know Jon from Island Sailing (in the furthest east marina on Hayden Island)? He's in PDX for the summer, but lives in El Centenario about 1/2 mile from my house down there.
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico do you have videos in how to make and grow a influential Amazon videos reviews of products.. just wondering.. I heard you talking about it on another video.. thank you so much

Hah! Kat is not a boat person either. Next time we're in PV we can get together and she can tell the story of the "crossing of the Red Sea." Spoiler alert: there was a lot of throwing up...
Pro Tip For Turkey Dinner: Buy two (or more) large turkey breasts and make them in the same fashion. Works great. Easier to regulate temp and make sure it is cooked thoroughly. Cooks faster because you're not cooking the entire bird. Also, huge space saver.
