Living Room Makeover | Cottage Reveal & how I used thrifted decor

I too have "goobers" that say "too much stuff" about my place. They're wrong. Ignore them. My space expresses my love for natural materials, art, beauty and personal memories. There is so much to love about the makeover, my favorites are the glass coffee table and all the mirrors.

It’s just lovely and timeless. Every detail has its own story. Your patience has earned you a beautiful addition to your home.

Your living room has turned out lovely. The vision that you had and the forsight to be able to hold on the things for 2-3 years in advance is commendable. I'm so flighty with the things I purchase. If I connect with an item I buy it right away because it won't be at the thrift store for even an hour after a visit. Sometimes this leads to a hodgepodge of items. I make it work from vignette to vignette and from season to season. Just because I use something one year doesn't mean I'll use it the next. It may be 2-3 years before I'm inspired to use the same item again and it will be used in whole unique way to me anyway. Storage does become an issue with decorating this way. If I didn't have an attic, it wouldn't be possible. If I had to describe my style it would be Eclectic with whimsy verging on cottage style but more of a modern European cottage style. A mouthful right? I'm a square peg in a round hole. It's not a perfect fit but works for me.

The entire room is absolutely Pride & Prejudice! I don’t see a single thing I don’t love!!

I know I've said this before, but my mom would absolutely adore this living room. She loved this style of decorating. Your style is so classically beautiful. So comfy and inviting. I just want to sit there and have a nice cup of coffee while listening to some jazz on your record player. You did an awesome job!

I love everything about it but my favorite is the reading nook, I love books and to curl up with a good one, tonic for my soul. The room looks amazing, the big mirror makes everything stand out. I love the floors and the wood framing on the walls, gives the room a true vintage look. Also the combination of White ceramic lamps and bits and pieces with the baskets look great. Job well done.

I just have to pause for a quick minute.. I am flabbergasted.. this is really really BEAUTIFUL!!! The palm 🌴 plant/ tree and wicker, the woods, bronze.. it reminds me more of a Victorian conservatory, or tea house in one of those period films in Victorian Era England.. you had this vision for what 2? 3? years .. I mean.. this is Incredible.... What a commitment to your vision, a patience, time and labor intensive gift of love to yourself and your family. I'm stunned. Truly. Not to gush, but I believe in giving honor where honor is due. You, my friend, have a gift. Your husband and girls are so blessed to live in such a beautifully presented peaceful looking haven to rest their heads. Thanks so much for sharing this. This is something to emulate. Wow. I am an artist whose color palette includes cobalt blue, lime green, mustard yellow, and vermillion with many patterns but if I were a neutral girl I would say you absolutely created an elegant, timeless, and comfortable space. I love it!

I love it, amazing what you can do with found treasures at a affordable price. It's so inviting & welcoming! Eclectic is what I call it, decorate with what you love & you love it. No one else lives there. It's your retreat & your families. I'm sure they are just as pleased.

I Love the way you placed the bookends, especially the dogs, I never thought of turning bookends different ways but I will be doing it now, great idea. The room makes you feel like sitting down with a cup of tea and a friend and having a wonderful afternoon, very nice room.
