I did that intentionally with an old Hutch. Removed doors and added a rod and curtains. Great Idea!!!

I’ve been watching you since the CC Caldwell days! I did try to paint a pillow, and didn’t follow the rules, so it got crunchy but I still love it… it’s an outside pillow anyway. The biggest Takeaway I have today is how easy it is to change up your color scheme… You’re fearless, Debi! Love to you and your family!

On the free furniture piece missing the door. I would add a shelf and either leave it open or create a little curtain to cover. Beautiful finds. You have a good eye & hate to see things end up in landfill. ❤ The new tags are a great idea!

Hi Debi, I love your videos! You asked if anyone has painted their furniture. I have, using regular wall paint! My sofa, two love seats, and 2 wing back chairs. I liked the way they turned out, they feel like leather. I have spilled coffee on my sofa, and it cleans up fantastically! Great with animals too! The finish isn't for everybody, but perfect for me! I'm really interested in using your paint on a couple of my velvet, cane chairs. They are a dusty rose now, but want a terra cotta color when finished. Thanks for your tutorial! 😊

I was here for the first velvet sofa. I was just thinking about this one last week wondering when you were going to paint it. It came out spectacular! I love the colors. Especially the darker part where it meets the frame. Phenomenal! And that gold. Lovely. Your color change from pink to blue. WOW! You make it all seem so effortless. Ever since I saw your Victorian couch that you painted black, I have been wanting to try this. I want to start small. I have a footstool that I am going to paint. Figuring out the color and any transfers. Love your colors and your products and I'm so glad I found you. And I wouldn't be mad if you had kept everything pink. I like pink. Yes, I painted my first sofa with leftover cabinet paint, and it’s crunchy, but it was my first experiment, and I used what I had on hand. I just painted a vanity chair and I love how it came out. Wow, you were busy! I love your post-workout recon missions! You are exercising a lot of restraint when you leave things behind and that is no small accomplishment! I would have definitely got the dresser with missing door. Easy to make another door! IOD mold decorative item to cover up the carved (?) area on the remaining left door. Then of course, one for the "new" to be built door. ❤

The sofa is beautiful and the lampshade painted blue looks so much better to me. I have never painted upholstery but I have painted my jeans and I feel inspired to start painting again. As for the secret place, I would have such a difficult time walking away without taking almost every piece of furniture. 😳

A couple of years ago, inspired by your video, I painted an ottoman with diypaint, and like your couch i used bohemian blue!! I did one layer and a touch up layer, it turned out so great!!

I would put a Large Square Basket or Storage Container inside Cabinet where Door I'd missing. Or Add a Shelf inside. Also Good Idea when a Drawer is missing.

Yeah I did it years ago, as an experiment, turned out crunchy. lol Didn’t dawn on me that water would help. I am a blender like you. About 20 years ago, I decided to paint my bedroom set that had been my grandparents. I blended an aqua with a light sea green. Then in places I stamped small leaves, as a surprise. You can only see the up close. I found an awesome 3 piece mirror on the side of the road and swapped out the original mirror. I still love it.

I have two chairs that I want to paint I bought the stencils to do them and the walls. Wish I could use those transfers on soft furniture. The comments about freckles make me giggle. I hated mine growing up. Now they’ve faded away. I don’t think it’s hoarding it’s your creative spirit that just ant be contained. Hard to reign in when you’re inspired.

I watched this video while relaxing in my painted chair and ottoman! I got the most comfortable chair and ottoman from a friend but it was an ugly brown and gold pattern…I painted it either salty kiss or monet’s garden. It has lasted really good…it’s used daily. My friend thought I had bought a new chair not used the one that they gave me. Now I really want to paint it another color….wondering if I can do that…. I love your new sofa and I especially love the kissing booth and blue iris combination.

Edit: Brandy suggested using fabric softner in the spray bottle. It worked really well. Thank you! I was wondering how to paint my kitchen island. Copper Penny looks amazing with the blues, too! 😊

I’ve never tried that because I’m really sensitive to the smell of fabric softener. Usually they have a lot of perfume in them. Heard other people suggest that too. I think it’s because it helps break down some of the plastics and chemical binders that are in most paint because DIY paint is just ingredients mostly pigment. It is already very soft, and easy to manipulate we have a video showing how you can let the paint dry out hard as a rock it in a bullet grinder add water and turn it back into paint and then we compare other formulas , they can’t reconstitute

Do a test on the bottom side of the cushions. Our black is the most pigmented of all little black dresses our darkest color it’s going to dry to more of a charcoal black because you won’t be putting a topcoat on, but it’s a great solution. Best wishes.!

Love your freckles,who was the red head in your family tree? Can you make a paint bath and dip cushion cases in to re color? The piece without the door put baskets on the shelf and paint the inside a fun color What make up brand do you use, it's very natural and good coverage you could be a rep for the brand. I have not yet painted and a poster piece but I’m getting closer every time you post some thing. I have a chair that was gold velvet when I bought it and I had it reupholstered for a hideously expensive price. I’d love that and appreciate it and enjoyed it for years, but I am just not paying that much money again. It’s been locked on and loved on by dogs and cats and it’s been in the sun and it could use a refresh. It’s not velvet. It does have some texture in the fabric that’s on the front and it does have some tufting with buttons. I wish you had paint in sample sizes

I have used fabric softener and watercolor paint on fabric to prevent crunchiness. It worked well. DIY paint would probably have been easier, tho.

Thank you for another amazing video! I am so inspired to paint my sofas as they are cream and so hard to keep clean with pupperonis. I have cleaned them before but it left some spots with water stains. They are a higher end microfiber so I think it could work but worry that the staining may show through. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. ❤

I could not handle having a place like where that stuff is free, I would be taking everything.. there's a local take-it-or-leave-it section at my local dump but nothing as good as yours..You could wallpaper the missing drawer section and use a nice basket for storage in place of drawer
