Whilst it may not be the cheapest, that's a lot of equipment packed into a small car. I wish my car had the door protectors. A very useful review delivered with aplomb. Thanks.
Your Fiesta looks identical to mine, although I went for the Titanium trim, and I would pretty much agree with everything you said. Coming from a 1.4 Golf with the same power, the little 1.0 feels much more responsive and more enjoyable to drive. All in all a great little car, although over £20k for one that’s not a performance model is a bit too pricey imo.
I just purchased a 2019 Fiesta SE. I started off waxing the car, and when i got to the roof I found it was so thin that you could easily dent it when wiping off wax...a big negative. Lots of plastic inside and out. Great steering. Rough ride. Looks great inside and out. The small 4.5 screen is way too small...useless. It was the least expensive car in my town, basically costing $8.30 a day for 6 years...what a lot of people spend on Starbucks coffee for breakfast and breaks. Then after six years you can sell it for half of what you paid. Great economical purchase. 2019 is the last year in the US for the Fiesta, until gas prices go up again and people weep over having a gas guzzler...but this roller coaster ride has been going on for sixty years...guzzler, subcompact, guzzler, subcompact, etc.
Oliver Evans. Does it really. Wow! I bought my 2013 Fiesta in the states at a Ford dealer in Jan 2015 (lease return) for $8000USD + 900 in dealer fees and taxes. It was an S, so very similar to the UK configuration with a basic 5sp. Few if any options. I think new it was $13,000. Very dependable car. 20,000£ wow. $30,000 will get you a bare bones econo Mustang on a good day here if you can find one on the lot they can't move because everyone wants the V8.
Way back around 2013 I purchased a 7 month year old Fiesta Zetec with less than a 1000 miles on the clock for £9,500. You could get a new basic model for around the same price too
Johnny Blaze. Noticed at the end, this was just an ad for the completely birded out model of options. Door robot bumpers, Tesla style dash tablet, backup cam and auto parking for the non skilled "driver". Platinumed Out except with still a stick because UK women still like manuals. US/Can not a lot of women buy manual shift, and few can operate it. Whats the UK current base price for the 2019?
You say the adaptive cruise control is one of the best. How about a comparison test between different cars and how effective they are? I like the lane keep assist on my fiesta (but only on its lowest setting)
@@H.K_R Yes, I had a 2000 reg Fiesta which had a spare wheel and I got a puncture on the M4 just past the Severn bridge at 11pm with heavy showers . I jacked up the car on the hard shoulder but realised I hadn't a tool to remove the rim .So I used the nearest motorway phone to call the AA . One of their mechanics came in 45 mins and changed it quickly . I was lucky to have a spare wheel as I had another 140 miles to make the ferry at Pembroke . What would you do if you broke down on the motorway at night with over 200 miles to your destination ?
It has more cargo usable space than the Focus. We have both, but in saloon design. The saloon Fiesta is about a half foot longer in the trunk (boot), than the hatch cargo. The Focus may have more cargo floor space, but much less rise, so I have found I can fit much more in the Fiesta and the seats lower more easily. I get 40mpg US so 50UK mpg would equate. Mine is dependable as it too is a manual. The small motor (like the Mazda Miata 1st gen) only has power and good torque balance at higher revs. 70mph in 5th is around 3000RPM.
Let's all do our part: call or write Ford US Customer Relationship Center and tell them what their American customers want. If we all contact them, maybe they'll realize it's a profitable business decision to bring the new Fiesta 6 spd manual transmission to the US/North American market. Wouldn't hurt to ask for the Focus and/or the Puma 6 speed manual as well! Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center P.O. Box 6248 Dearborn, MI 48126 Ford U.S. Phone: 1-800-392-3673
Hi There, main reason, because it's stunning and in my opinion perfectly designed and mechanically engineered, as well as comfort has been fully implemented and is the highest priority to the Customer's needs and satisfaction, which is what makes this Ford Fiesta a great Car overall, compared to the high majority of it's competitors etc. Kind regards Peter
I found that this car is manual transmission. So Britian drives manual. The same is in India. Most cars are manual. It is more exciting to drive manual though. However here in US all are automatic.
American drivers are so boring and lazy it's really pathetic. Don't worry, there are still some cars available with a manual transmission here in the US
@@danielleroux6490 I think it is different. In the USA people are not lazy. Otherwise all the innovation in the modern world would not have been based out of USA. What is important to note is that even the poorest people in USA can afford automatic cars. Why not go for something more convenient that is available for a low price tag i.e. an automatic car in case of USA. This is not true for UK or in postcolonial nations like India. These countries consider automatics as luxury. Clearly USA is the epitome of modern human civilization.
@@anartaroy711 Note: I said American DRIVERS are lazy - they don't care about the pure joy that driving a manual gives you: being connected with the driving experience that only a true manual transmission brings. It makes everyday driving more engaging, safer, and fun. Americans just don't get it. They see it as 'more work when stuck in traffic jams.' That's why I said they are lazy drivers. It's pathetic really that they don't even try or want to drive manual cars - it's so boring when browsing used car listings that all say 'auto' - I skip over anything 'auto.' Sorry, not interested. I don't care how good any automatic transmission works. I still prefer a manual. It's the only way to drive. I wasn't speaking about Americans' character in terms of work output - typically Americans are overworked and take less vacation than European counterparts.
Good review, however you did not mention that the Fiesta will depreciate a lot quicker than a Polo, I also hate the iPad stuck on the dashboard as an afterthought. The Polos Sat Nav is far better integrated and is also available with the Audi style virtual cockpit, when will the Fiesta get that?
Has anyone noticed the weak boot struts? Rattle from dash and seat belt. And cable of door handles coming off and how sluggish deasel is when cold it's dangerous and sometimes start stop doesn't even wake up have to press the clutch again.

I truly don't get my country. We'll buy SUVs by the shipload and ignore hatchbacks that carry more and have more room! I'm still peeved we couldn't get the BMW 1-series hatch.

Who the hell spends 20k on a ford fiesta .... Only some one using some one else's money.... Small hint! Honda civic 1.5 sport 20k with a little discount ....
Yeah the modern ones are awful had a 2004 Fiesta which was only 2 years old and head gasket went when i floored it up Amersham hill, left me stranded 20 miles from home, im sure its still on that hill today LOL, will say though the old Fiesta and escorts were way better made , shame QC went far downhill in the 00s
