That coupled with two recent recessions, a low unemployment rate with no one being able to afford to retire, and therefore bring in new workers (hence why companies like GM have to force people to let them buy out their contract ALL the time). Then you force the graduates to work a barely above minimum wage job, while they try oh so hard to get ANY job in the field they went to school for, pay their car insurance, school loan, food, rent, phone, internet, forget about having any emergency money if your car breaks down. So then for them to live “affordably” (considering I live in one of the cheapest areas to live in in the US, and the cheapest place you can find that’s isn’t mold ridden or falling apart is 900/month if you’re lucky), what kind of life do you expect them to live? Use almost every cent they have only on rent? What about those who have no support from their family? Fuck those sociology students, right? Part of why I never went to college is because of shit heads like you. “All those college kids need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps, tell ya dat! You live with them through out your childhood and early career years and then when you have enough money to buy a bigger home you invite them to live with you. Not doing this would be considered abandonment of your parents and is a matter of great shame especially if the parents are really old. We here find it weird that people in western countries leave their parents in retirement homes to be cared for by strangers.
