You are amazing 👍 I dropped out of high school now I’m 56 years old I’m divorced I can’t hold a job. Doctors put me on antidepressants for the past 20 years with no improvement. My life is shit, who would be depressed. I was diagnosed in 1975 with hyper activity the didn’t have meds for it back then. I just started Strattera today, wish me luck. 🤞

So many of us have had messy lives due to ADHD! You are not alone! How are you doing w/ Strattera now? How are you feeling?

Update Strattera did not work for me it was just a placebo at best. I was given a adhd medication by a friend just to try and it helped a bit but the dose was off for me and maybe not the right medication for me but it was a positive change. I could focus and my anxiety and depression where nonexistent. I would like to find a good psychiatrist but I have crappy insurance at the moment. It’s amazing to me I can’t get help from the medical community.

This helped me so much with my imposter syndrome about my own inattentive ADHD! The way you described your struggle with focusing was so similar to how it feels for me and I am also a college student who gets typically good grades but procrastinates likes there’s no tomorrow. Thank you so so much for sharing your experience!!

I understand what are you going through i just got diagnosed with inattentive adhd. I live in egypt where's there is no knowledge whatsoever about the condition now i understand why iam depressed and anxious now I understand my failure at shcool and college even though they told me i have great potential but all i wanted is to live in the dream world and day dream all the time and my addiction was movies tons and tons of movies always repeating watching the same movies few times . Now i understand and. I'm filled with regret i feel i missed out on lots of opportunities missed out on life in general i was addicted to hashish and nicotine and sometimes liquor now i am addicted to nootropics always looking for new nootropic supplements to enhance my attention and now my constant simulation is smart phone and asmr videos. My parents didn't understand my teachers didn't understand no body understood i felt so envious of others for being so motivated to study and work hard . I felt ashamed of my self i have acquired English language just by watching movies and listening to music every body was amazed how i was able to do that in short span of time but i do terrible at school. I guess one of the hardest things in life that's nobody understands what are u going through. Now am 32 and I'm trying.

You are so brave, I have mild left sided cerebral palsy. And I have ADHD inattentive. I did a college course on singing, it helps with the controlling breathing, and good fun getting it wrong. People don't believe I have cerebral palsy, because I speak clearly just like yourself. Be proud of any achievement you make they all add up.

Thank you! I have spastic diplegia and often people don’t believe me until they see me walk and notice that I limp. I took a voice class at my community college too, it was terrifying (mostly because of my social anxiety, I really dislike being the center of attention lol).. it was nerve wrecking but also fun, I learned a lot about the way the voice works as well as breath control, but I’m still pretty bad at it

Thanks for sharing. It is very interesting. I myself don't have ADHD(my psychiatrist says). But I have schizophrenia. My brain is a bit different and also have trouble focusing and starting tasks. But I usually tell people I have ADHD. People understand ADHD better than the changes to the brain and its effects on schizophrenia.I am now suspended from class at the moment for owing too many assignments. Trying to work on it.

I’m so sorry to hear you’re having trouble in school, if you’re in the U.S, you should be able to get academic accommodations.

Strattera makes peeing extremely difficult but I am still on week one. Try 5-HTP (increases serotonin) and L-Tyrosine (increases Dopamine)

Yeah it’s fight flight or freeze fir sure. But I don’t think it’s caused by itself. It’s not a symptom of anxiety either I don’t suspect. They don’t come out of nowhere I can’t accept that line from the modern doctors mate. Anxiety is not the cause of my tight tummy. And anxiety don’t feel is a disease. It’s a symptom fir me - a symptom of the stuff that goes through my head. Always thinking bad stuff - and believing it. That’d make anyone anxious. Also, I think we must be kinder to ourselves than than, regardless this issue of anxiety and depression. It’s SO rife in the world now, that isn’t it more responsible to suspect that the way the western world is actually living and structured, which is making life untenable? And thus causing anxiety. Ive got some help at least with my diseased thinking. But I know that (I’m sixty) I’m watching younger people your age be under pressures to be judged constantly, that we never DREAMED of when I was young
