This is so wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time. The love you have for each other is inspiring and I'm so happy you will be traveling for Jason and making memories. When Leslie said she DID sign on for this I cried.

Leslie and Jason, I found your channel when you were first sharing household decor tips, and then when you started sharing Jason’s story I was enthralled by both of you. Now something in my life has changed and you are a part of my heart, thank you for your videos! My husband had a stroke in early March, we are 60&61 yrs old, just starting to plan our future retirement. That’s all gone now, we live a life of intense therapy sessions and medical visits. My husband has lost his right side, yet he is able to use a cane some to walk. He has both aphasia, and apraxia so he is relearning how to speak, and control his motor skills. Yes, our story is different because we live in hope that he will continue to improve and gain back some of what he’s lost, while you slowly loose your ground. Being the caregiver is a challenge and yet I feel God’s strong hand on my shoulders constantly, even when I have overwhelming sadness and just want to cry. The community of friends and family have boosted our spirits and have jumped in to help with so many things. I had a hard time at first accepting the offers of help, food, money, chores, but knowing there will be a time when the offers stop coming I take them gratefully and acknowledge that in letting others do something for us I am doing something for them as well. People are good, and genuinely want to help and do good. Not sure where I’m going with this, but wanted to reach out to you and let you know others are learning by your example and that you are in my prayers.

Happy Anniversary! We've been on two river cruises and they are amazing. Here's some things to know, try to walk a lot before you go to build up some stamina because there's a lot of walking on these trips, they do have a 'gentle' walking group but it's still a lot. It could be a lot of stimulus for Jason not only with all the sites but crowds. You don't have to go on the daily trips if you don't want to. On each trip there were a few days we were tired and decided to stay on the ship and we were so happy we did. We asked if the ship was staying at port or moving to another location to meet the group. Once the ship stayed in port and the other time it moved location, we loved when it moved location because we sat on the top deck and it was like we owned the ship, it was peaceful as we watched the world slowly go by and no one bothered us. If Jason is too tired for dinner and would rather sleep, they always put out light delicious snacks around 9ish in the lounge which are filling, the may be able to make up a tray for your room, and there's always cookies in another area too. Enjoy your balcony for peace and quiet as well for a glass of wine and maybe a lovely treat you found while on your day trips. Sorry if this is too much but just thinking about Jason and making it fun and easy. XOXOXO

Y’all are the sweetest couple! I’ve tried to put myself in your shoes, and I think part of the frustration has got to be that you’re so young to be going through this. My husband and I are about 20 years older than you are, and it would be different if you were our age. It’s not fair, but just keep trusting God’s plan!

I can't help but cry. Seeing your best friend slowly go through this, I just don't know. I miss my husband. He passed from pneumonia and swine flu, he went quick and it tore me up. I just love these videos, yes, they do make me cry sometimes but I'm here for all of it. Everytime I listen to Jason I can't help but wonder what he must have been like before this happened. I've only been married three years now and I really hope my husband and I can grow together like you guys... marriage goals.

Love these videos , seeing how well you both have adapted to a new way of life. I , myself am going through a new way of life with my hubby. Last year he developed sepsis and was hospitalized for 6 months , then went to rehab for a couple of months. I had no idea what sepsis even was , but he was extremely lucky to have survived it. He still has some lasting effects from the infection. I turned into his caregiver , like overnight it seemed. It’s hard sometimes taking care of an adult, plus yourself. God Bless………

Thank you for sharing what you are going through. Even though it must be difficult. Also amazing that Jason wants to share to because that gives a totally different perspective and also an inside to what is going on. I worked for almost 20 years with people with dementia different kinds. And I often times would want to look in their heads to know what’s going on so I could help them better. So to hear Jasons perspective is really interesting I admire your care for him even though its a difficult road. God bless

Just did the Prague to Budapest on Avalon River Cruise and loved it. Hopefully you scheduled extra days in Budapest! There are a lot of walking on the excursions so pace yourselves.

You two are such amazing people! I know the frustration level must be over the moon for both of you, but you are so honest and wonderful to document the struggle and share with others, which has to be so difficult for both of you, but so very helpful for those who feel alone in their similar difficult path. Happy, happy anniversary! I want to thank you for your honesty and let you know I was comforted by a comment you made Leslie. You mentioned that it was okay for a caregiver to be frustrated. I’m not quite there yet forgiving myself for the frustration. My husband has different health issues but two results are the constant sleeping and hard of hearing. We are much older than you both and it’s challenging for us. I think you are both lovely and can’t thank you enough for revealing your challenges. I’m sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t feel so alone now. Enjoy the vacation.🚢
