#shorts Robin Greenfield experiments with extreme minimalism and in this video, he shares how he lived and traveled with only 47 possessions! Over the past 10 years, he has transformed his life by downsizing all of his stuff, getting rid of his bank account, and dedicating his work to raising awareness about important environmental issues.
In this video, he shows us the simple zero-waste possessions he travels with and talks about the philosophies of non-attachment, non-materialism, and non-ownership that drive his lifestyle choices.

After my divorce I went bankrupt and had only one tent and few clothes in my name. I've never been more relieved and happier in my whole live. Possessions mean nothing if you are not happy.

Good for you, I love seeing it when people are able to break out of society and live life like normal humans are supposed 2. And to those who don't like this lifestyle. Look, if it makes you happy, then do it. Much Love bro

Thanks for your comment :) This is definitely very extreme and not for everyone but it sure makes us think about the things we own.

I love this philosophy because the things you own end up owning you. I try to be as minimalistic as I can but it’s hard! Good job on your part.

"Question your stuff." It really should be more common. I've gone homeless and lost everything but what fit into a suitcase. Having already needed to downsize previously from moving out of a 1 bed apartment to a 15 foot trailer, I had a plan and new what things I needed. Now I'm starting to backpack and that list is getting smaller, but it's the extreme circumstances/emergencies plan.

More than once I have felt owned by my possessions. So much lighter and uncomplicated to strip down. I don't see myself as minimalist as you, but I do see the charm of it.

Ah, got it all figured out, do ya? Yup, that's right, people! Every single person who's EVER not lived in a big house with hundreds of possessions they don't need or use... it's only because they have a wealthy family. Every one. I would love to know how you logic'd that in your head, sweats 😆

This guy again? Don't believe it, he's sitting on top of a very comfortable nest egg, always chasing the next biggest "lean" life clickbait. There comes a point when you're just another minimalist, which is respectable, but it's always super special when it's Robin Greene.

So you didn't have the drive, ability, talent, work ethic, or gifts to be the millionaire that you wanted to be, so instead you decided to go the other way and try to shame others into feeling bad about having more than you because you are one of those people who just can't be happy unless you are the center of attention and constantly getting little pats on the back doing absolutely nothing. You aren't a hero. The fact that you feel like you need to fish for likes from people just for living your "minimalist" lifestyle makes the whole idea completely pointless.

You can't work yourself into being a millionaire. If you think you can, you're deluded & that's on purpose.

You know, it's interesting that some people are so easily offended by things that have nothing to do with them. Like homophobia, transphobia, people pîssīng themselves over others being different from them. Why are you so bothered by this dude's way of life, don? What, if any, affect does it have on you?

I'm a fan of minimalism but I knew someone was going to say this. Which contains the basic truth behind minimalism. That for most, minimalism is a reaction/rebellion against the usual and accepted consumerist lifestyle. Including myself. Ironically, the minimalism that he practices is possible because of the security/peace of mind the social fabric and its abundance provides. The realisation that till you have money and a passport, the world is at your feet. That all you will ever need or want will always be readily available, just no need to keep it all the time. At no time in human history was this so feasible/desirable for so many, except in the past century or so. We should be grateful for this incredible privilege, evolutionarily speaking. But no doubt that we as a species have to balance-out our lifestyle excesses and the resulting social ills. Such videos are simply implicit activism/advocacy. It's the need of the hour.
