Mental I was down at fbtuning last year getting a newage engine into my classic and this very spec c was there! Very awesome in person and yes, a unicorn in the subaru world!!
Seen this at the LB Cars and Coffee meet - don't know anything about Subaru cars, so had no idea how special it was - the thing that we noticed was the 'air flap?' on the roof - hadn't seen one like that before. Great to now get educated - another great video Mikey!
There’s so many different Scooby models and editions that I don’t know what half of them are but I know this one and it’s a bloody good one! Another enjoyable watch and jdm so bonus points 🇯🇵
Hope you put your rubbish in the bin 😂😂. Love how you leave this bits in. It shows how honest the videos are and the general public are weird and wonderful 😂😂
I own a JDM Bugeye Type RA Spec C which they only made 172 of, I thought that the RA stood for “Rally Altered” as I believe my version was made for the Group N rallying, my car came with no boot spoiler or boot trims, no DCCD, no front fog lights, no air bags and wind down windows it’s the true hardcore lightweight version. Other things I like about mine is the single scroll turbo and equal length headers so you don’t get that Subaru burble and the Bugeye Spec C was only available in white.
I think there is definitely mixed messages on line about what the RA stands for for sure. From what I read on some it’s rally altered on others it’s record attempt I believe for my specific model it’s record attempt due to the attempt to break that 8 min lap but i could be wrong 😂. I think earlier models like yours it’s defo rally altered due to being made for group n rallying like u say. Mine also has the equal length headers so doesn’t sound like your average uk Subaru which I have defo grown to love. 👊🏻 your bugeye is lovely btw 👌🏻
@@andywalker2316 I think you’re right in regards to the RA, at a guess you’re on the TypeRA forum? Thanks for the kind words, engine out soon for a 2.1 engine build. 😎👌
I believe there was also 300 Ra-r cars produced (at least that’s what Torque gt state on their website and they do know their stuff) so I would say the ra-r is equally as rare as the Nurburgring ra from info on line. I’m sure Subaru produced other special models in less units but difficult filtering through all 😂
