Living with the G80 M3 - 1500 Mile Review Update

This is the first BMW ever made that is actually exciting to look at. This M3 is borderline the most beautiful and exciting looking car ever made.

My honest opinion I own every M3, normally my dealer rings me and asks mr mahmood when would you like book your test drive, i instantly said I’m not buying this one, today I picked up my M3, pictures don’t do this car justice, the car is a beast, front grill with the number on looks normal

BMW are clearly on the money, I hated the front grill but now it’s really growing on me (and it would appear others!)

When you buy the M3 touring, I'd suggest looking at the frozen grey metallic colour as shown in the RBR's video of M Town. It looks stunning

I don't think it's ugly. I've seen a few on the road, to me it's more distinctive.

Great video. I saw the G80 today for the first time and it looks amazing in person. I think BMW nailed it in exterior and interior design as well as the driving dynamics. And yes when I drove it my first thought was that it felt as nimble as my old M2.

Great video guys. Having had an F80 that I didn't get along with due to the poor ride and nvh but loved the look of this G80 looks to be the perfect balance. Looks have grown on me a lot too especially in Oxide.

Really appreciate your thoughts on the new G80. I love that Oxide color and I think it might be my favorite color on offer. I feel the same way about the looks. It's a lot more important how it drives and how it makes you feel when you drive it and I don't drive a car for other people to look at. In other words I think the new G80 and G82 have it where it counts.

Your comments on the design are spot on - having test driven the G82 recently, I didn’t give the grille a second thought (and I hated it before I saw it). The entire design language is “aggressive” - I think it looks right for the moment but hard to tell if it will age well. I think the F82 meanwhile is a timeless beauty. (Also, love the Panerai, especially with that strap 👍)

Good review video 👍🏼 I've seen a couple of M3's and a few ordinary models out on the road. I have to say, the M's look pretty good to my eyes, i even quite like the grills but still not sure about the rear, bit too 'busy'. The ordinary models aren't very nice at all. All that said, still prefered the E21 😍 but i'm old so look back fondly on the halcyon days of BMW just making the 3,5,6 and 7 series, not every car for every person.

Hope the X-Drive version will not be higher than the rear wheel drive version like it is on my current 540 X-Drive Sedan and hopefully the X-Drive will not weigh to much extra and will have less precise steering feeling

I for one think the g80 m3 sounds similar to the f80 m3, and when both car are stock they sound nice, and recognisable when accelerating in the distance.

My biggest problem is the gearbox. An improved DCT would have been a better choice. I agree with Harris.

Seems like this car drives really wonderfully well. It’s very aggressive on the road !!! When are you guys going to lower it and or maybe use spacers? A Downpipe? Are guys working on the air intake for this new M3 Comp?

Great video review, I will probably never be able to afford one of these could probably stretch to an F80, but heard bad things about turbo problems etc..to that end Ive booked my e92 le500 in with you guys for rod bearings, decat & stage 2 remap, in your opinion does the 92 stage 2 compare at all with the newer models in terms of driving satisfaction? Or has the e92 become an old dinosaur?

Wow, great content as always guys, keep it up! Question, do you think the polarized front grill will keep this car from being a huge sales success? Or will they sell as many as they can produce? I’ve owned 3 previous M3 generations but just can’t bring myself to spend that much on a car that doesn’t impress me both inside and out.

i understand everyone's complaints about the grille size... but has anyone noticed how big the whole car is? it makes the f80 and e90 look like go-karts.

Love the review, but wholeheartedly disagree with the front grill from the first time I saw it, I LOVE the front grill especially, the design is artistically bold with a sharpe form & Gorgeous!!!

I am also starting to accept the grille. I purchased the X3M Comp for the capability and I was unsure of the exterior and now after 1500 miles I am starting to really look forward to driving it. Now in a year or so I am going to order an M3. Great video. PS sport plus with everything turned off on the X3M seems to have a mind of its own. Never reacts the same way twice. Any ideas?

Amazing car,i want one. Grill...as more as i look at it,normal grill looks kinda boring comparing to M3 grill. Just one idea,have you thought to do the redisign of the grill only? I dont know if that is possible.

Type in RU-vid.... M3 G80 frozen dark gray, best looking M3 ever you just can’t beat that colour. Also Can’t you put a syvex ecu in it so you can tune ?

F80 is king

i agree the ZF soooo much nicer than the DCT gearbox in my old m4, when i brought my f90 M5 first thing i loved was how much nicer the box is on it.

Guys great review, just got my first f82 and after the 428I with the ZF the f82 DCT is RAW , the g series is early days have they fixed the crank hub issue in the s58
