Glad to see you back !. If you intend to keep the ZS EV can I strongly suggest you have the windows tinted, it really helps in the summer time. Your passengers and dogs will really appreciate it.
We have a 2016 22kw Zoe that I was confident to get thanks to your videos and in 2021 we got the MG5 for my wife as we have 3 children and zoe is a bit of a squeeze for 5 plus my disabled daughters equipment, our 5 is the standard range and doesn't have the toys that your car does, no MG pilot but for the money it's worth it
Ha! I'm glad it has worked out okay. I had an MG5 for a day about a year ago... and videoed some stuff which I then ran out of time to edit - it would all be out of date now. But I liked it. I just had a look at the face-lifted version and it is great too, especially the new dash layout.
@@alloam yes nearly went for the face-lift but they had our car in stock at the show room the face-lift one would be built to order and this was just as the chip shortage was starting to stop car production as I work in teck new cars would be hit next so we decided get the showroom model that was discounted due to the new model just been released, Happy with the choice we made, its going to have a big test soon as will be 6 of us useing the car as baby no 4 is due in the summer thank goodness for multimac allowing 4 kids in the back
Unfailingly enjoyable videos, thank you. It's also informative to read the comments from other MG owners. I hope you do put out a video on your thoughts on the EV market, your dependence on public charging is a valuable perspective. Thanks again.
Great to see a new video from you and lovely to see the dogs 😀 Your experience with the mk1 ZS EV absolutely matches the 3 years we had with ours, a lovely trouble free usable car hampered on the long runs by not great efficiency and slow rapid charging, even in summer it would sit around 37kW once past 50% in winter it was worse. We did our long drive from Derbyshire to Northern Ireland in October in bad weather and it seemed much more a chore than in our 30kWh Soul EV. Door issues wise was your car one of the ones that had the drivers door loom recall, we had that and it was fine other than sometimes taking a couple of clicks to close. Getting roasted in summer and creaks from the sunroof "check" 😆 We had ours for 3 years original plan was to keep it 4 years but between good trade in prices and lucking into a cancelled MG4 SE SR it was traded in a few weeks after it's first MOT. So another EV adventure starts for us all started by you and Jan-Bart's RU-vid videos in the Zoe. Best wishes to you all.
Oh lovely... I had a good look around the MG4. I'll need to do another video with thoughts on the current state of EVs. I am very tempted, I must say. Just the boot space holding me back a little. No, our ZS did not get the driver's door recall - but I do wonder about it with the issues we've been having of late. Definitely something to ask about at the next service as long as nothing goes dramatically wrong in between. Enjoy the MG4. It sounds like it is a real driver's car.
@@alloam It's lovely to drive, boot space probably no good for two dogs but does us, efficiency seems good, charge rate on the SR is not as good as the LR but way better than the mk1 ZS EV and there are other advantages to the LFP batteries in the SR. I'm really looking forward to some good long runs once it warms up and we start having proper days out again. Thanks for putting the video up, it's great to have someone put up a video that's just their thoughts or experiences than trying to play RU-vid for "engagement" 👍
How do you secure your labrador in the boot? We need to find a safe solution for transporting ours in our ZS. We've had the transient passenger door mirror issue on ours too and the same fix worked for us. We've also had an issue with the rear washer jet - fluid spills on the road instead of going on back windscreen.
