When I was down in me luck I met some roma. I was scared of them ,I thought I would be ill treated and beaten. I COULD NOT BE MORE WRONG .these people gave tea hot food (something of which I had not seen for a week or two) work and money. They showed me respect and earned mine in return. I will never ever forget their friendship, their music and their way of life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤ 💙 💜
Romani Gypsies are the nicest people I’ve met, I stayed down the river with them for a week when I was younger. They were impressed that I could live off the land, I always have done.
I’m Romani Gypsy from USA 🇺🇸 my ppl left from the Uk 🇬🇧 some were in the 1800’s I’m glad other Romani are starting to speak up now ppl don’t know that it’s hard for Romani to do this we are still scared of racism propaganda against us ❤
My family is from that area. They made camps around Poonch but traveled up and down the mountain as nomads. They left due to oppression and traveled to Europe(their destination was USSR actually) According to them, Roma were people they got confused for only due to skin color and speaking another language. They met with the groups and they didnt share the same language nor had culture overlaps. So they were very different. They also never met anyone like them. So there was no Roma where they came from in India. Meaning ROmani and nomads of that time have become very different despite starting at almost the same place. That said, you are not Roma being from Kashmir unless your Kashmir relatives returned to India as Roma or you have Roma ancestors who were actually Romani that left India thousands of years ago. There is a believe there are people in India who came from the same ancestry as Romani but they are not the ROmani, but I think they are somewhere near the desert or something. Cant remember for sure.
Romani people who came from India are NOT the same than Irish travelers. Most on the travelers are genetically Irish, not Indian: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Travellers
Romany people travelled from India across Asia and all through Europe, and carry the DNA. Your correct my dear, and no Irish travellers carry that DNA. Just as we in Britain are not Roma but Romanichais. Different.
Unknown User Like that the people in the video aren't Romany, but the true Romanies were believed to have come from India. The Romany were known to be very proud and not given to crime as the tinkers and pikies always have been. Mind, of course that doesn't mean all Romany were honest, nor that they didn't leave rubbish wherever they stayed. It was that they were generally known as having a lot of honest people amongst themselves. The last well known Romany family in Britain, the Petulengro's, became settled. One lady had a boothe on Brighton pier back in the 60's, and during the 2000's another young Petulengro lady had a small shop for fortune telling on Blackpool seafront. A lot of tinkers pretend to be Romany in the hope of gaining respect by misappropriating the identity. If they are Irish or Irish descent they are definitely not Romany.
All around the world, the Roma is probably the most humane people you can ever come across with. Trying to survive in the world of possessive, obsessive and greedy gadjos! I love you all, Opre Roma!
A very good and interesting video of the history of stow horse fair I like this video because it is the fight for traveling people and the posh people who do not live with us i like the old fashioned market stalls and I hope stow horse 🐎 fair goes on forever from Ben 👌👍
They do. But their lives are not easy anywhere in the world. I know people who would kill themselves if they were exposed to one tenth of the discrimination that the Roma receive.
The more I see of them the more I like them, most are good and kind, there's crap everywhere and it's easy to pass judgement.Walk a mile in someone else's shoes first before judging.Theyre not going anywhere, good strong stock.
My Nans an English gypsy, can’t go to her place without being fed, my grandad grew up in a London orphanage, she was lucky, the gypsy camp she grew up in (born in a carriage & lived) was sold to the council on the condition the ones that wanted to stay got the first houses, meaning although she received a lot of racism through the years, it was not as bad as it could be as most everyone were gypsies, her newest nieubor of 5years said she’s the best neighbour he’s ever had! She was 1 of 10 her dad was 1 of 19
Stuff any hater that don't know nothing about the Roma gypsy lifestyles and they will never say anything face to face to me or my family and guarantee we live better than most gorgers 😁😂
Very nicely presented vid of Gypsies..thanks for posting!! ` "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures" 1 Cor.15:3-4

I wonder if I have Romani blood in my family, since my ancestors came to America there isn't much knowledge of what they did in England, Ireland, Wales, I know my great great grandfather was a horse trainer in Russia for a Czar. I can say that I feel a great affiliation with the culture and music. Regardless I do study whatever I can get my hands on of the Romani way of life. Best quote during this was "there's good and bad in any group of people"
@@drinkbrue7877 all of my European bloodline records were lost in the Holocaust or changed their names to deceive the Gestapo... My great grandfather was a horse trainer for a Russian Czar until he could flee into Poland and had 11 daughters, only 3 made it the United States, I very much think my grandmother Irene or Irinka, had many stories up her sleeve and she rocked gold teeth, had an uncanny ability to win consistently gambling... How? I have no idea I don't believe it's luck if you win over 4-5 thousand every week or so while just spending $150-200, she was very frugal and cheap yet had a lot of money hidden, she also broke a Marriage off and eloped with my Grandfather a week after her wedding date...now my Grandmother would never speak of anything to do with religion, even Christianity she was a very quick witted fast thinker that took no bull from anyone not a soul. She would write ellio's pizza about not having enough mozzarella cheese until they would send her like 10 free boxes, her characteristics are strangely familiar to me but not from my parents tongues but the way she would hold my hand with her thumb in my palm it would relax me and her calm voice was Soo soothing, my grandfather stood no chance .. he fell head over heels and lived his entire life in a Shadow, I will always honor all of my relatives but my grandmother Irinka Cunsevich or so she said it was, was just a different type of soul my other grandparents were dull compared to her even though she never worked she always had a hustle and managed to make great money showing my grandfather she didn't need him in fact it was for show she loved him and maybe it was her game to keep him allured, I know until there 70's they had a healthy sex life and my grandfather worshipped her his whole life with her. I always wondered how she just left a man for my handsomely grandfather he was no smooth operator or Dr., but he was a handsome devil that could dance all night and was a former professional baseball player... Now this can prove nothing but I'm my heart and my mind I know my outlook is different my beliefs are staggeringly opposite of most in ways that I seem strict with morality yet loose with my own self being, I am a wanderer and I feel no need to settle anywhere ever.... I claim a wanders life and DNA would just say yes or no but man makes mistakes and many families were erased throughout history and even taken from their parents so they didn't grow up in the Romani Travelers way, but indeed I feel a great compassion to other travelers than any Christians or other faiths I've studied them all and I think they have great points but they are mans words not the Almighty Unknowns'. Who knows I'm 39 and I doubt I'll find out unless I go dig up Europe
My children are half. The bullying they got off other children for what they where. Even teachers never treated them the same. I've had to move house schools ect. Heartbreaking. There's good and bad in all walks of life. Two many people judge.
I feel you. Bargie traveller here who thought it was normal to be called pikey at school. From my experience it gets better as the other kids grow up because they learn to think for themselves and don't blindly repeat whatever racist things their folks have said. The younger generations are better at accepting people from all walks of life. Best thing you can do is teach your kids that the other kids just don't understand yet. As for the teachers, yeah they're just racist and there's nothing you can do but move on.
My Granny comes from romany gypsys & she allways told me be proud of where you come from & who you are God bless you granny and i am proud to come from gypseys 🙏❤️✝️🇬🇧⭐🙏❤
I am not an expert by a long way. How I see this is there are very nice people just wishing to live there life in peace how they wish. We are the problem just let them be and live how they wish to . good luck to them all.
My grandmother was a Romani gypsy. I know very little about that side of my family. I would love to go to a fair like this and meet some people to understand that side of me more.
at 7:00 I would believe them that they are from our people. You can already see that they are maybe only half. but you can see it. You rarely see such original-looking women in England. but all the others in this video noooo
I come from the REAL ANCIENT NATIVE IRISH AND ANCIENT NATIVE SCOTTISH , TGE FIRST BLOODS AND THE START OF IRELAND AND SCOTLAND AND WEVE BEEN HERE FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS,, SO ALL USE PLASTIC IRISH AND PLASTIC SCOTTISH TRY LEARN REAL HISTORICAL HISTORY , AND THE REAL OLDEST SCOTTISH ARE THE LAST OF EUROPE'S OLDEST NOMADS,, 👌
The Roma left India 1500 years ago, they travelled a long way and have welcomed fresh blood into the community as they travelled, most English Romany families have a rule of decent runs down the fathers blood line.
@@billygray9753 see you said Traveller 😂😂😂😂😂 you sausage roll lol.....hahahahahahaha. are you a Gypsy Traveller or a Traveller Gypsy....or abit confused 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 and you asking if i can read you fucking spelt Traveller wrong you doughnut haha
Some women said to me one day, I never meet sucher Nice People in my life. some of them have big hearts and souls fillet with never endles love. Can you emagine..
I love the gypsy way of life .but I don't like how they are treated 😕 its disgusting to be persecuted for the way they live. I have know some really lovely gypsy people there's good and bad in all walks of life. And they work dam hard i know from experience because they have done some great work for me in the past. Why can't people just live and let live .
When the lad was describing school,by saying,,you see people who are bigger than you and people who are smaller than you,,and you think well!😕 what is the lad talking about?
Have to say, Irish Travellers and Romany are two different things. Both congregate at the fairs, but to be honest, the Irish Travellers are aggressive, and cruel to their animals.
I think its very much possible that Irish Travelers and Romani mixed, which can explain all the white ppl. Just a theory! There has to be a reason why they still call themselves Romani and Id say some Romani ancestry is the reason. Why would they do it just to lie? P.s. A white person can have none white ancestors. Romani person is someone who lives by Romapen or Romanipen, the way of Roma. Its not an ethnic group. Romani have adopted and invited people of many ethnic groups and made them Roma. You can be adopted by Roma Swedish kid and still become Roma. Romani never stopped mixing, unlike Irish Travelers and European Jews. So Romani are ethnically mixed, and not one ethnicity.
Because romnichical and Irish are to different people Alot of old roma people didn't see them as the same besides they travelled...loads have irish blood as there only people who they'd rather mix with them regular fook ....all this bullshit I was taught a true Rumney knows when you see another it's a instinct your same people.... but shame to many people see diddcoys as same thing!!!! If they look dirty talk dirty smell dirty straight up diddicoy ant no gypsy man looking like a card board cut out.
@ALCHEMICAL PRINCESS I know everything you said but gotta correct you, there is no proof that their caste was the reason. Many tribes all over the workd were nomadic and some are still to this day. Most likely due to the way it was in the past, had to move to survive , and never learned to fit in. I didnt leave a comment because I was ignorant on the subject. I was trying to make a point. They are white cause most of their ancestry is white. Thats about it. I am white cause most of my ancestors were white but I am only about 75% white by dna. So we cant judge ppl
Dont judge a book by its cover. Anyone living Romapen is a Roma. They can be 💯 European and still be Roma. I am not Roma and even I know. I grew up in an area with many Roma due to my family being confused for Roma many generations ago. Being a white little girl I was often told to stay away from them or they would kidnap me because some of their kids were blonde and ppl assumed those kids were kidnapped(Roma allowed white ppl become Roma, aka kids were mixed) Ppl who knew my grandparents didn't like (white) me nor my family cause my North Indian and Central Asian great grandparents were accused of being Romani. According to my DNA my great grandma was actually mostly south west and around 6% South Asia. So my nomad great grandma's indian family most likely nomaded their way into North India(wasn't Indian) before getting out of there. Oh and I also found out I'm Finish and Yupik(thanks to my father). Yet, being 1/4 Asian mix, I'm still as white as white can be. So who knows, maybe they do carry South Asian blood. DNA testing is very occurate on what continents your ancestors are from. You can't decide it for them.
@x y Roma and Romani are the same ppl but they have different groups. Just in Poland there are like 5 different Romani aka Roma groups. There is no wrong or right spelling. Romanipan or Romapen are both the same. You have it as long as you live the way of Roma. Roma is what they call themselves. Romani is a word that I only heard from English speaking ppl. They always referred to themselves as Roma or Tzigan(Gypsy).
Irish travelers came from when England colonized Ireland, stole the land from many Irish families, so they became displaced, homeless, wandering forever w/out home. Gypsy is a word that comes from An ancient Greek word for Egyptian because they misunderstood that brown Romani people were not from Egypt but from displaced Rajasthani people of Northern India whom descend from ancient military Soldiers of Rajasthani Northern India . .Romani language is still understood by Rajasthani speakers of Northern India. Irish travelers are NOT gypsies (Romani of Rajasthani Northern India descent). And their cultures are very different, despite both groups being nomadic. Irish travelers committing violent crimes in western Europe give Romani people a bad name because outsiders call both groups Gypsies. Failing to correctly distinguish between the two very different nomadic demographics.
Thats the point, they have a lot of white in them. Its okay if they still wanna identify as Romani. Why is it a bad thing? Its like telling a mixed kid that looks white that they have to deny their 15% African ancestry. I think its okay to still talk about it as long as they dont deny looking white.
they ain't roma people they are irish travelers that mean they don't come from india or isralel like real roma people.. but irland ... plus they don't speak romani laungage. they speake shelta which is different to r laungage. plus 80% of romany people dont live in a caravans any more.. in my country which is czech republic we have very similar people like the irish travelers . but we don't call them travelers but comedians or circus people. aven bachtale
josef dinko How? In what way are these people Irish? The video was filmed in England and they speak with English accents There clearly not Irish, they are romanichal which is a British branch of the romani (gypsies)
Roma people did NOT come from Israel. They originated in India and migrated to Eastern Europe: Romania, Czechoslavakia, Yougoslavia, (both of which broke up into smaller countries, as you know.) When people migrate, race mixing happens. See my comments above on more history of the Roma and the Irish. You are correct about the Irish Traveling People; they are not related to the Romany people. They are Indigenous to Ireland.
Not all gypsies are thiefs and vagabonds. The real McCoy romanies live by their own rules and traditions and theres nothing wrong with that. The younger ones have developed western ways and are into drugs further giving them a bad name. Theres good and bad in all creeds.
kevin adamson thats fair. Im Irish by the grace of God but Also have Nordic dna. Does this mean i can go and rape and pillage? Because that was a tradition too?
Romani and travelling culture evolves around love for land and animals. The lack of love for non travelling people comes from 600 years or racism and witch hunts and stuff of that nature. But we're working on it, unlike you it seems.
