Livingstone to Lusaka. EPIC train ride!!!

We've come to accept that in Zambia, you don't travel by train to get where you're going quickly, but to enjoy the journey and eventually get home. There's a day I did the same trip, this year, and we got to Lsk at 21hours!! Effectively a 24hour journey!! In Botswana their train is highly efficient and on time - same distance, 4 times as fast. It's sad the state of our railway for passengers.

To Michelo D.I.Y,:this Railways build in LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA to take local people, to travel, with their's goods on the train 🚆 takes to near places like towns, like Zimba,or small cities, villages people to move easiest, especially cheap is 'the 🚆, 'locomotives 🚂 ',we also sometimes use the RAILWAY, to LUSAKA 👉🇿🇲💙👍

Yeah that shower was good. Meals are very basic indeed. I guess they are meant to cater for the average Zambian on the train. Menu could really do better indeed.

The best would be business or sleeper. Economy and standard gets very full with no space.

Sleeper class has sockets in the rooms. You can connect any appliance.

Yes. Sleeper rooms have a socket.

Hi The distance is about 550km. Train is K150 for sleeper class, and less for the other classes.

Hi Mwinji... The fares have gone up. It's now about K260 for sleeper class from Livingstone to Lusaka. You don't really have to book in advance, just be at the station in good time and you can buy on the day of departure.

Yeah, there are compartments for 2 people, so if you are with a friend you can get that and have your privacy.
