@@simoneengelleitner947 Big weakness of Stegadon is that it's super easy to hit in combat because enemy hits VS Skink Crew (WS2). Pop a chief on it and it becomes way more survivable due to higher WS and +2 Wounds.
You are missing out that a Saurus Scarvet on a Horned One can join an infantry block if you want. The cold one gives him armoured hide (1) and 2 more attacks at S4 armour bane (1). This is how you put BSBs into saurus blocks. Not on foot, but on a cold one thats a horned one.
This would be such a nice change. So many spell lores have 'self' target spells and they're mostly useless for the Slann, lore familiar is a must take in many cases because of this.
This may be one id have to deffer on: Ive not actually ran one at this point (despite having 2 stegs) Whats your set up of the chief Steg? Ive sort of looked at it and tbh fell into the Scar Vet + Carnosaur being the same (similar atleast) points as the Chief + Steg and looking better to me Banner wise ive not found much utility for a monster standard when putting together Lizard forces
I'm essentially a 6th edition player still trying to adjust, so I could easily be missing stuff - but wouldn't that Skavenpelt Banner be ok on cold one riders? Granted, it competes with a regular warbanner, but it seems to me the best place for it.
It depends on view on frenzy I think, on if your play style is in favour of the cav unit being baited more easily is more of a downside than on an infantry unit To me the longer bait distance due to the m+swiftstride for the longer max charge is a big disadvantage vs on an infantry unit that I can have closer to the centre of my lines and fend off bait units more easily but its 100% personal preference!
Soul of Stone is way more powerful than you give it credit for. Since it lets you manipulate one up OR one down. Where it really matters in when you roll an 8 or a 9. On an 8, you just knock it down to 7. Your phase keeps going and maybe you take a wound. On the roll of a 9, your phase was going to end anyway... Bump it to 10 and you get a perfect invocation. For the lower rolls on the table, nicely reduces the risk of blowing up your slann.. but if you are in a lost situation anyway, you can force it down to the 5" S10 AP-4 blast and really do a number on something that was going to kill your slann anyway, If you aren't taking HSOM, you should be taking Soul of Stone. Save the earthing rod for your level 2 skink priests, since you should be using your arcane item slot on the slann on a lore familiar.
Amazing review!! I think one of our awesome unit the "Cold One Riders" has the problem of the Stupidity special rule, but if they're in combat don't have to take the stupidity test, so why don't give to them the "Skavenpelt Banner"? The unit became furious, they have to charge and go quickly in combat. With the right trick can be a very good unit!
