He didn’t have a album out but he’s been around from since like 1989 and had tracks “ Born loser “ which came out in 92, and “ Make a move “ 94. 95 he was on Mic Geronimo’s “ Time to build “ with Jay-z and Ja rule.
Like i said, with DMX in this, i do NOT see anyone else. This was LL’s song with special guests. However, u can’t hide talent. DMX stole the show hands down.
@@ghanasoul yup ,I remember he would always go last on songs ,and his verses and his delivery was like a shot of adrenaline man ,and it would give u chills ,that's how hard he was man
@ghanasoul Yeah, this is the PERFECT song for X's voice...strong, gritty, growl. DMX is a shining star for sure. However, LL is a shining star too... has been for a long time and he is my favorite recording artist and entertainer. So far, I haven't come across anybody YET, that has made me change my mind, but I will not dim the light of someone else, that is clearly talented, either. Why do you think they dressed DMX the way he's dressed, in comparison to the others? That's just ONE part of it, by the way.
Notice how much more energetic the crowd was without holding their cell phones pointed at the stage, like today's concert's🤦🏾♂️ shows we're definitely greater back then.
@Reginald Lovely Hey Bro!!! I was stationed out of Norfolk V.A. on the Carrier Enterprise, that concert sounds like it was 🔥💯. L.L. has always been famous for great stage performance and he has super list of hits, peace to you man✌🏾
danceromel he was booted because the beef had begun. The beef began immediately. Canibus said his verse, LL laid his verse after he heard Can verse, and it was on. Canibus recorded "2nd Round KO" afterwards and the beef was official. "4,3,2,1" was a hit so now Can couldn't perform live with LL and them.
I know the whole story dude. LL made a comeback song, "Can I Bus!" LL...one of the greatest battle rappers of all time! Even Jay-Z knew better than to go toe to toe with uncle L!
No offense to everyone else onstage, but DMX’s part is the part i keep repeating over and over again. THIS was the hip hop i remembered from Junior High to college in the late 80s and 90s. Bring back the ‘90s, bring back the golden age of hip hop. Most of all bring back DMX. 😌
+DJ Rod B Nah that's his energy. No way you can sit and listen to the X spit and not feel it. That's raw emotion and he had a charimsa so many rappers lacked. DMX last well known performance that was televised was at the Hip Hop Awards. Crowd went berserk when they saw him even though he hadn't made a hit song in years. I compare him to Pac because both weren't too lyrical but just had this outstanding presence as rappers.
denise sarfo - Was about to type the same thing. All due respect to all the legends there, especially LL but damn they went crazy as hell when X started spitting his bars. His energy gets you hyped as hell.
you can tell when DMX started rapping they realized the realest nigga in the game just entered haha, an the energy all at once was insane and they couldn't evan hold it in they new he was a legend from day 1
Can we all just enjoy the fact that besides this being a classic, no half naked girls, no fancy cars, no flashing money and 100% testosterone. R.I.P D although legends never die.
Imagine, back then X was the least known of the 4 but got the reaction from the crowd like he was the legendary god Emcee. Unmatchable energy and soul. #hiphop
When X spat his verse the crowd went bananas 🔥🔥 he was truly one of a kind, a ICON, LEGEND, G.O.A.T. There will never be another like him. R.I.P. Earl “ DARKMAN X “ Simmons ✊🏾✊🏾
My mother worked there for many years as an usher, and she used to take me to work with her and let me run around all over the place. Especially backstage. I met many artists as a young'n. Das- efx; lil kim; Gerald Levert ect; My mom took me & a couple of my friends to this show for my birthday(Mase & lil cease was the Headliner) and let me tell you the energy in the place was like nothing I've ever seen. Especially when Meth & DMX started spittin. Meth threw his schott Leather in the croud and the shortys went crazy! Everybody was goin crazy! It was something about LL tho, it was almost like he had a glow to him (Mase too). I remember it like it was yesterday.I love being a 80's baby, cause when it came to hip-hop we were privileged...Good times. P.s. Check out the mase & lil cease vid if you can find it. 1love
Its on here I watched it great performance you are blessed to be able to see some of those performances live music is not what it used to be I miss the 90's early 2000s music
X’s energy on a track is unmatched. Not many years later, Jay-Z would go on tour with DMX and find out that following X is damn near impossible if you’re not ready for all that residual energy. As Jay himself has stated, X’s stage presence is the reason Jay stepped up his stage show. DMX in his prime= damn near untouchable.
I keep repeating X's part over and over. Fam's stage presence is impeccable 🔥. The way he was in the back the whole time pacing like a wild pit then he growled right before coming up like he knew they were about to unleash him. Then when they did the damn crowd went bananas and it was worth the waittt!!!! He did not disappoint.
Back when rappers had their own personalities and styles. Put them together on a track and let them flex their indevidual skills. And in the end we can pick and chooses who's verse was the best... But in the end they all made it a banger.. And if u took their verse out, it wouldn't be the same. True MC's right there. True rap/hip hop right there!
X's growl before he goes off 🙌🏾 I remember hearing in a documentary once how X was the type of rapper that was a voice of the people. One who could speak on behalf of the average man. The crowd's energy in this video proves that. 😊
Man...I remember when I first saw this video...I was like ‘WHO THE F- IS THE DUDE THAT SAID *STAY OUT THE DARK*’? I knew he was gonna be a star from that moment.
I said it because to me it was funny. There’s nothing to “call out” on. I have the right to speak on how I interpret what I’m watching. If you or anyone else doesn’t like it that’s your problem.
@@vanceedwardsii8739 you said he made meth and red sit out that’s not true, they did it because it x’s turn to rap just like x fell back when meth and red were rapping. And just like all 3 fell back when ll was rapping. You fan boys get on here and say anything.
I was there for this performance and the energy was lit at the Apollo! I'm also the one that got Meth's sweater when he threw it in the audience. Best. Day. Ever! RIP X. 🙏🏽
Don't make me put u somewhere where nobody can smell ya! I still listen to this song like it just came out. This was definitely filmed between october and december of 97 cause they wearing coats. There'll never be a time in hip hop like this ever again. DMX along with Canibus, Noreaga, Big Pun, & Cam'ron were anticipated in nyc during this period until they all released their debut albums in 98
