at what point does making the album make sense. not even jah prayzah? he's saturated the market he has appeal with. albums allow touring opportunities

@@LLWD I think it's worth questioning and experimenting with - by that I mean would it have taken away touring opportunities for Jah if he had dropped Chiremerera over 9-12 weeks as singles? I don't know the answer to this by the way. I think artists like Jah who is the biggest artist in Zim people are going to listen regardless of how he rolls out. For emerging artists though I think there's an argument to be made against albums especially considering that it's now nearly impossible to sell physical units and make money from the streaming or sales. Make 12 songs & put them out each month & maintain momentum. I think holyten is a good example of a hybrid approach. He still makes albums but a lot of singles in between releases to ensure the streets are fed

@@CdeMaDaejsAripi i hear you! i think the question is what's an emerging artist because Jah prayzer could be emerging on the continent but have saturated the local market. so he could go with either strategy depending on which market he's attacking at that point. but what Enzo does definitely works for Zim. the set list is always being updated. The worst thing is really the brand new artist that puts out an album. put those out as singles.
