Josh from LM Tuning here,
In this Tutorial, I'm going to be demonstrating the how to use WinOLS to compare both files from the same vehicle (1st - VW Golf GTI MK6) with different software versions, then secondly comparing and finding maps using two ECU's which use a very similar system. How do you get winols to highlight the axes on your defined maps? Mine just highlights everything in the map?

Love the video thanks for the tips! Question for if I'm looking for smaller maps like an RPM limiter. 1*1 maps in region where all are 1*1. How do you find them more easily? I'm having a really hard time

Hi Josh. This tutorial is great 👍. But i have a question about. Ihave ori file form my Audi A4 B6 2001 1.8t but i couldn't find a Damos it. The Damos i have is form an Audi S3 1.8t. Both cars using ME7.5. If have understood form yours tutorial i can import mapp offset for Stage1 form S3 into my A4? Is that correct or i have misunderstood? I'm still learning about and i will appreciate any feedback.

Thank you for this. I had been wondering if it was possible to do this. Lol nice. Also can you point out maybe some more videos pertinent to winols? I'm trying to tune the unforgiving me5.2 for an e39 non vanos m62b44. I have a ols file for it but It's all in German. Currently in the process of translating it manually with a tool I found online.

great video , i have some questions , i would like to see what these maps look like , what is the HPFP maps and the HPFP PID , are they torque maps ? also that does the diverter valve control maps do ?

The 1st helpful video about mapping an unknown binary... and it's scary that it's based on comparison and guesswork, not disassembling...

Guesswork is probably not the best description of this process. If you have a file definition and the data is identical between software versions then theres a very high change the data is for the same purpose. If people aren't confident in this they can flash a file with a small incremental change to see if the vehicle acts differently. Trial and error mitigating risk.

@@labordemotorsport Hmm this looks like a map lets add everything by 1 to see how it reacts (ecu reads it as 1000x the original value) (engine explodes)
