Look, I'll admit sonic is difficult to watch as a viewer but sonix is incredibly skilled. Hardly anyone plays sonic as amazing as he does or does well as he does. Only Ken has enough results to somewhat make a statement. I've seen statements that sonix isn't skilled or anything but that simply isn't true. Sonix is genuinely just a grind demon. I know he will likely search for diddy players to practice so that his next time with tweek won't be the same. He did it with cloud and we have seen the result. Anyhow, the set wasn't robbed, it was simply a good set. Both players deserve to be applauded for their performance.

I understand why people hate watching Sonix play, I will give this to him though: he IS fun to watch when he’s being aggressive, he’s very clean. And of course, he’s in the talk of being top 4 in the world right now so he’s a very good player

Sonix is a phenomenal player and I don’t care what anyone says. Sonix is willing to time people out and just completely slow down the pace of the game. Some might villainize him for this, but he’s not playing to please, he’s playing to win. Go Sonix 🥳

He wasn't playing with his food. He was doing the same things he was doing that won him the first 2 games but Sonix adapted so all the stuff that worked before and looked good started to look silly now that they weren't hitting

Nah he literally lost game 3 because he threw out 3 random counters. He didn't counter a single time in game 2. Sonix punished that weird change

@triarcness It's not about the specific move. It's about his general strategy. He was going for a lot of hard reads which were landing in game 2, they(which happened to be the counter in game 3) just didn't land in game 3 so it looked stupid. Watch some of their other Corrin - Sonic sets and you'll see the counter land often in similar situations.

Those counters in game 3 really lost him the game. He countered 3 times. While one didn’t do anything cause Sonix was offstage. After each of the other two counters, Spargo was unable to land any hits until he lost a stock. Then in the final stock, Sonix just quickly got the percent lead and snowballed from there.

Just like Miya downloaded acola, I think sonix might have finally downloaded Sparg0. Sparg0 was playing great but clouds faulty recovery is really starting to catch up to him. Edit: Didn’t watch the other tournament this weekend so acola did beat Miya ok. That doesn’t change the fact that Miya also beat acola I believe the last 3 times in a row at kagaribi 11, port priority, and watch the throne. I’m willing to settle and say acola has a better recorded overall, but as of late it’s more back and forth if not in Miya’s favor.

He just thought he was safe after going up 2-0. The switches also didn’t help imo. It almost worked, but Sonix adapted and Spargo wasn’t ready. Should’ve stuck to one char or the other and brought in his own adaptations. When you switch so much you need to focus on changing your playstyle before adapting to the opponent.

That was crazy, the threat of spin dash was messing with Sparg0. So even without using it Sonic was able to find openings and chain attacks.

There are a lot of stages to ban against sonic to prevent camping, but it leaves open for FD. Platform camping is strong against Sonic because Sonic lacks options to beat it ironically. However Corrin is very good against Sonic anyway and doesn't need to rely on platforms to win.

@@rizvan1632 Platform camping discourages spin charging as the jump is slower and actually punishable. Not to mention it is easier to punish and do easier falling aerials or tilts at an elevation that you're able to react. Plus you do not need to constantly fear the shield getting smaller playing on the ground. Sonic has to think how to correctly hit opponents on the platform and does not gain that much of a benefit with platforms and can play very fine without it. Plus add limit with Sparg0 which creates pressure. Maybe watch your games and notice why many top players will use platforms against Sonix, because multiple players do it.

Does Sparg0 not know that while sonic is recovering with up b Spar0 fan just down air with corrin and hit the top of of the ledge? I do this with corrin all the time because it’s more consistent then 2 frame tipper. This only works if the person recovering doesn’t have a hit box upwards but since sonic up b doesn’t hit im sure he could just down air idk but I would have gone for that all ik is that it works well against link cause I do that to my brother al the time

Sparg0 is my favorite player but he continues to let his mental affect him too much. He made one mistake with the counter and let that affect him to the point where he lost the game, which led to him panic switching to Cloud but with the nerves already set in he lost both of the next games with both characters. He just needs to fix that and then he'll truly be on his way to be the undisputed best.

That’s the trap with Sonic. Staling is the way and switching up Speeds so they can’t adjust their timing to Sonics speed. You’re welcome

He's lightweight, so slip-ups in any aggressive play style brings him closer to death than with most other characters. And like the person above said, stalling is a way of using his speed to dictate the pace. Being aggressive all the time is honestly a waste of Sonic's speed, in my opinion
