Yeah I don't know if going last stock pretty much last hit on the games you won would get you that much momentum to beat a top five player.

smub is a very momentum heavy player so the minute or two light got to potentially clear his head in game 4 could absolutely have swung the set in his favor, but it’s impossible to know

@@OP_Quag My guy had plenty of time to clear his head with how smub was clearly baiting those ledge approaches. Light was not going to be interacting with that so really the controller disconnect really didn't do anything imo

@@OP_Quag This is literally one of the top 10 players in the world we are talking about. A lot of hopium in those words to claims that a couple of minutes makes that big of a difference. But like you said I guess we will never know for sure

@@sebaschan-uwuyea and shitting on ridely is the easiest thing to do lol. It balances out. Ridely has a simple kit and gets washed simply cause he’s rather ass.

@@sebaschan-uwu All that just so Ridely can still get bodied on with his eh frame data, and his inability to handle projectiles. Also Ridely does not have combos at high percents for kill confirms you are on drugs. He also cannot spam fireball in Neutral…are you new to the game? I can see him being annoying if your very low level competitively. But I fight PR players and they don’t fall for that shit. Watch greninja dance around smub and shit on ridely, getting free fast kills. Watch wolf take his sweet time winning the war of attrition because Ridely can’t get in. Watch joker Arsen counter and kill at like 60 when Ridely tries to recover. The list goes on and on. Not to toot my own horn but I main Ridely and I’m rather good. I’ve learned from Ridely’s better then me as well. Your shit against the character and you are overrating him cause your bad. Someone had to say it. Try a projectile character and remember that Ridely CANNOT punish safe pressure on his shield. Smub loses all the time whenever people just…learn the MU lol. “He’s like rob but eaiser to play”. LMFAO Ah yes Ridely with his neutral projectiles, 0 to death combo, easy kill confirm off a grab, and safe frame data good enough to make a sonic scared. Oh wait that’s rob.

@@sebaschan-uwu 1. Your shit at the game if you get hit by fireball it’s very easy to avoid. 2. Planking is counterintuitive to ridely as a character. He’s weak to ledge trapping lol. 3. If you think ridely is brain dead you are just ass against him. Like severe skill issue. Everything you described is hard countered by safe shield pressure (his frame data can’t punish safer options) and good spacing. Fun fact ridely’s forward tilt can lose to joker and byleth forward tilt lol. We can get an arena up if you really want I main all the big bodies. Ridely is NOT my go to for a non swordy MU. K rool and bowser are a lot more brain dead for a counter pick. But no offense, you describing ANY big body as “op” tells me you are a casual at this game.

@@MorrowMoon_thenightwing True, but not just that I mean overall Ridley can cheese fox in general or kill him early with something stray. I just want to see how light plays around that in neutral.

@@PiRATEPUNK7 I remember him mentioning in his podcast that he basically had to avoid ledgetrapping, which was hard because that's one of Fox best tools. But yeah, once he prioritized winning neutral over that the MU was much better. You can even see that on the last stock, Light doesn't deal with him on the ledge and reacts afterwards.

@@Tael98 Yea that makes sense, Ridley’s up b is disjointed so no point in taking stray damage trying to ledge trap him. I’m sure it could still be done, but it’s probably like trying to ledge trap Sephiroth.

WiFi Ridleys strength is side by side being less reactble. Playing footses is his weakness but much harder to do online.

Yeah but it might as well be useless. The spike hit box kills later than the sour spot, you have to purposefully drift out or in to get the sour spot and then you only have a couple frames to actually get the punish

@@Creepoobayea it doesn’t even combo like shieks, it’s fast but has way to much endlag. If anything footstool nair out of shield can lead to platform tech chases, a lot safer as well, even if the opponent shields getting the footstool makes the nair harder to punish

@carlosvergara4132 In practice no, any and all the people who did say you can do it were not ridley players.

Pausing is disabled at the setup, so they used disconnecting the controller as a work around. Light talks about it in his podcast, but they had a few technical issues. First time the game is paused is after the audio completely cut out for them, and the other is when the screen went black.

How do you know light did that on purpose? That could have been any number of factors. Timing a technical failure for right when you're trying to recover would be difficult and wouldn't be in your favor anyway.
