That may be the newest model but it still sounds as good as the original M60. I'd love to try this version, especially firing from the shoulder which wasn't all that easy on the original due to its weight.
The need for general purpose machine guns in this gun's peak period, Vietnam etc. was just outweighing the M60's issues with cleaning, overheating and needing maintenance. But i am glad that such a good design with the semi bullpup configuration is being worked on to produce much better designs and i hope this gun will see success.
The MG3 is surely a good weapon, but with todays needs it simply lays down to much ammo too fast, it fires twice as fast as the m60 means u will have to carry twice the ammo load, and the weapon itself is too heavy for the modern military, it fits more on a vehicle or stationary post rather then carry, the M60e6 is a highy upgraded light machine gun wich is perfectly suited for carry over long distance with still have the ability to carry lots of ammo and with a sensible ammo consumption, and alot better barrel life and longlivety for the parts and weapon system it self.
