so, how do you do an N-Connector on LMR-400 that you have to solder?

How come the tools are so expensive? That round blue thing is like $104 on Amazon and it just looks like little piece of plastic.

I use to braid coax for Belden and their cable was garbage. The supervisors would tell me to send out bad coax. They said they just needed to get it out and it didn't matter if it was bad, money and shipment was more important. Especially if it was sent to 3rd world countries. This is when I was doing inspections. Timesmicrowave is 10 times better then Belden.

Do you have a new tool for the LMR400UF because this tool does not work properly on the outer sheath it's to rubbery?

What is the make and model of the bnc connector you are using?

Thanks for posting. The cost of these tools for the individual ham radio operator is way too high. Nice system though.

The tools are still expensive for the everyday ham. I was able to acquire a new prep tool on Ebay for $65 and the crimp tool for $50. Trying to source the connectors now.

@slshock
@slshock 4 года назад
For LMR 400 the # is 3109-394. DX Engineering sells the boots for $20.00 for a 10 pack. WSB series weather seal boot.

Costs $500 just to put ends in it. Man , when will the r&d costs go down? Looks like I’ll be buying 213 from now on.

I just bought 40ft of LMR 400 Ultra Flex with the ends, shipped to my door from the Antenna Farm for $120. I was very satisfied.
