Action from the Pontypool & Blaenavon heritage railway, as the Welsh line host their Annual steam gala featuring two visiting engines. The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway provided their red LMS Ivatt tank 41241 and the Bodmin & Wenford railway sent their Great Western Prairie tank enigne 5552.
The homefleet in were also in attendance.
This us our second visit to thus little Welsh railway featuring the steep climb of Blaenavon Bank which runs from Blaenavon High Level to Whistle Inn Station with notable gradients starting from 1/35 to 1/38, 1/39, 1/44 and back to 1/37. Action sees a mixed variety of formations, mostly top & tail with goods trains and passenger trains. As you'll see in the video this line has plenty of character due its industrial past.
I haven't listed any locations as all scenes were captured within a one mile radius of each other. The scenes where the loco passes under the over bridge next to the carriage shed is the steepest section of line at 1/35.
I hope you enjoy these little locos giving their all !
