Better to implement a brake and when battery is fully charged we just apply the brake and prevent the turbine from rotating. One could also add controlable angle of the turbine blades to reduce the forces on the turbine when not rotating in strong winds
Thats a lot more complicate. Stoping the propeller could brake it under high wind and changing the angle is not that easy, especially for a homemade turbine. You need rotating propellers and some sor of controller to change the angle. Could be done but is a but more complex. Maybe I will try that as well...
This is basically an electronic brake. More simpler to implement than a mechanical brake specially for an electronics channel. Rather that the brake pads heating it’s the resistor dissipating the same energy
