Great idea using the Red Lobster Biscuit Mix. You just took a classic and turned it into something that will be a mainstay in my holiday recipes. Thanks
oooohhh man...we just had them for the Christmas Party and I made a few changes myself. Shredded the pepperjack instead of stuffing, used the package that came with the biscuits , and used hot sausage. My family said I have to make every time for now on..hahahaha
Neal, I made these. The biscuit forward nature of these sausage balls are epic when you warm them up, cut them in half, and put a hard fried egg in the middle. Best breakfast ever!
@@TheCrazyPop Live about 30 min away....Dolly's parents shared the same hollar as our family...we were not as poor but Definitely lived the appalachian life style. My high school football coach took her to a prom and would tell us funny stories...We have spent countless hours there between fun and work. Funny thing is i could almost certainly think we have crossed paths
OMG, I have got to try this now!!! I've had the cheddar bay mix sausage balls but never with pimento cheese or cheese stuffed. Thank you so much for sharing this one!!!
I like that. For those who want to control the runny, fall apart feature of the cheese stuffed ones, a mini muffin pan would do the trick and still maintain a snack size.
Fantastic looking sausage balls! This is the third video I’ve seen recently using the red lobster biscuit mix, and I’m definitely going to have my wife try this next time she makes sausage balls!
Love the cheddar bay biscuit mix! We're doing a big pot of New England clam chowder for Christmas Eve this year and now I know what the dunker is gonna be!!! Perfect pairing, thanks for the inspo dude!!!
@@TheFlatTopKing hmmm, crab stuffed. It's winter Dungeness season. The best time to harvest Dungeness. They are bigger than summer crabs and the meat is fullest and sweet. I'll add some of that to this for the holidays. Admittedly though I have troubles when shelling fresh Dungeness. Eating almost as fast as I can shell. It's good to get full on something else before shelling so you have some for stuffing or making crab patties. 🦀
If yo nnotice on the small ones i did...i was trying to see it if mattered...then i saw the cheese oozing and thought maybe they are to soft to flip...
When I get off work I have all of my people that I'm subscribed to feeding me videos as I click through them you are continually suggested below. I guess that is by virtue of my likes and comments
Thats a good thing...i am sure it has something to do with it..do you comment on other pages...I am shocked on some of the people I follow that they dont comment at all or at least VERY little. I try my best to clear comments every day..I feel like I owe it to the people that take time to reach out good and bad
Looks good. How about you make Armadillo eggs? What is an armadillo egg you ask? It is chicken breast stuffed with jalapeño and cheese (cheddar or pepper jack) wrapped in bacon and either deep fried with some sort of flour mixture or baked without (can be fried without breading as well). Shaped into a ball. It is delicious. Now you can flatten (pound) the breast thin and shaped into a ball with toothpicks or used ground chicken the same way you did your sausage balls. Give it a shot. I bet it would even be great smoke or griddled.
How many laps around the neighborhood with the tire will it take to work off the calories from the meatballs? That's innovative exercise that costs about nothing. Hopefully you can work up to a tractor tire! Keep making the great vids!
Straight up knockout punch my Brotha! Cran-sweet chili sauce would be a great complement to them sausage ball’s, and love the cheese stuff! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼, awesome cook my guy. Keep throwing in the smoke cooks if you may, show off the cooking Kung-Fu skills ✊🏼🧐! Cheers y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
@@TheFlatTopKing ive been caught up with work, and raining on and off. Im planning to season it either today or tomorrow to hopefully break it in this weekend. And yes, next on my list is a pellet smoker.
I like your idea to bake them in the smoker. Someday I'll have one.. When I make them with the Red Lobster mix, I use hot sausage, 8 oz cream cheese, 7-8 oz Pepperjack and 8 oz Extra sharp Cheddar, then add in some crushed red pepper flakes to taste.
I just made sausage balls for appetizer for Thanksgiving. I used that brand of pimento cheese but without jalapeños. Also had cream cheese in. They were delicious! I had homemade cranberry sauce that I made for the first time. Never thought of stuffing cheese in the middle. Brilliant 😋
@@Merica_dadgarage i swear by the smoker. That’s being said I have not had experience with other ones. I have the navigator which is on the higher end of pellet smokers for pit boss but Definitely would not want a cheaper one. To thin etc. I have learned that you pay for what u get I am absolutely sold on it. That’s being 100 honest. Heck just used it tonight for fish. I don’t think of it as just a smoker. I grill and bake in it all the time. Its literally a oven with flavor
OOOOOO, now you are talkin, don't have the smoker but the griddle wins this one. Super idea using the Red Lobster mix, that is some tasty stuff. Is the recipe up on your web site? These look delish, good camera work Amy....makes it shine. Just on the griddle what would you change, just get the crisp all around?
My mind goes in to completely opposite directions...maybe a spicy style honey mustard or a mix of cranberry sauce and sweet chili sauce...heck maybe both
Not all recipes make it to there..just being honest its hard to keep up. We both work full time and raise our daughters plus RU-vid so we hand select recipes. The recipe was pretty straight forward with limited measurements...so we didn't choose this one..If you like I can create a quick recipe card..just let me know
Same as was said, but I flip them at the 12 minute mark because the crust on the outside that it gets in the oven is the best part, so you get that on both sides.
@@TheFlatTopKing I think it did a great job. It's nice to steady the camera, but it's also nice to have Amy behind the camera to adjust it without having to stop filming.
@@TheFlatTopKing it's nice seeing Amy as well, don't tell her that I said she needs to stay off camera because you know that's not what I meant. I like Amy more than I like you, Boo....
These look delicious, I’ve never made sausage balls before so I’ll have to give them a try. One of your fellow RU-vidrs, Mr. Kent Rollins, smokes cheese!
This is our Christmas breakfast this year. I bought 2 boxes of red lobster & 2 sausage, palmetto is our favorite brand also. Great minds think alike. The stuffed cheese in side will bring ours to another level.
Hey Ann...try this instead....make the balls without the cheese then roll..then place chunk of cheese inside like pushing down...it gets more even and hopefully wont bust
