I was wondering why you put the stilts on top of each other all the way up, and you explained - thanks! Now "shelf life" has a whole new meaning for me. I liked the cone boats the best. I'd love to see a view of when you open the kiln after the firing - that's always so exciting! Interesting video, thanks Derek!
hello Derek, congratulations on your work, I watched your videos on youtube and they are really good. I'm from Brazil so I'm sorry for the incorrect English!! I want to make an oven similar to yours, could you help me? Do you have any kiln construction projects or tips you can share? hug and thank you my friend!
Hey! I contacted a local company that helped me build and install this kiln, it is not a DIY so you will have to buy one, sorry I don't have any easy hacks on this one! Thanks for subscribing!
Thanks so much 🙏🏽 I get them from all over. Usually kiln shelf has them in stock. I am phasing out the carbides and getting all advancers. You could ask Jim of Cooper Works here in Denver. Euclid is also a good resource.
Cones measure heatwork while a thermometer only measures temperature. That is why cones may bend at a different temperature than your thermometer is reading.
