Basically all of the Australia content is exactly what it's like to live here. Dickhead in a Falcon, wildlife that makes sounds that would be considered over the top for hellspawn battle cries, taking a wrong turn and ending up with no road.
Shot of koala. Me, "I hope they got to hear what koalas sound like". Shot of koala grunting. Me, "I hope we get to see their reactions". Pans across to three somewhat stunned Canadians. Me, "Seems about right".
As an Australian who every couple of weeks has to hear a koala making that noise outside my window at 3 am it always pleases me to see people from other countries reacting to their sound.
I’ve lived in Australia for all my life, I’ve driven past that brick chimney more times than I can count. Thank you for finally revealing to me what it actually was for😂
Brings back memories of growing up in the bush, trying to get to sleep during koala breeding season when there were about a dozen of them in the trees outside making THAT SOUND.
I am Australian, I have live here all my life. I have seen koalas in zoos and in the wild and I did not know they made that sound. What the absolute hell? I only discovered Furphy recently and have had similar issues. Its cheap and tastes decent enough so I haven't questioned it. Grahams aussie accent at the end was actually pretty good.
good video. But three flights to go from victoria to victoria seems sub optimal. Also in the after credits scene beej missed the opportunity to say "you beauty."
My girlfriend and myself were flying to Italy and had to stop in Lisbon. Portugal airlines arrived there late and the next flight to Florence was 8 hours later. Nowhere to sit in the Lisbon airport, so for 35 euros each we paid to get into the Premium club they have there. I can recommend this to everyone if you have a long layover, go to these clubs. I have never enjoyed a shower more in my entire life. The shower alone was worth it, but the comfy chairs food and drink is amazing. Totally agree with you Graham!
The Gaytime Sanga is using the same miraculous ice cream technology as a Maxibon, which the internet tells me is available in Australia and USA. That means you should be able to find it at any PAX city. But definitely PAX Aus.
Southern Cross Station! I've been there so many times, but never in slo-mo. Yeah those acid-green utes are kinda weird. Graham did you get out of the shower, start your camera, then get back into the shower and back out? Or...
oh my god that song at 4:38 is the same for the intro music for the podcast Myths and Legends. I totally forgot about it. Thank you editor or whoever wanted that music in that spot.
I have driven that exact same road back from Olinda. And yes hitting a big kangaroo is a car-wrecking level situation. Also we have large feral deer in some areas.
Be more concerned about wombats. They'll both wreck the car, but at least roos will sometimes try to get out of the way. Wombats know they can just walk away after the crash.
I want this comment to be known it comes from a place of nothing but love for this channel/community. That being said I have a small bit of constructive criticism about the upload timing for vlogs. It’s in my sole opinion that if it is at all possible, to make it so that when uploading vlogs keep there realease timing closer together. I felt that this part 3 was uploaded a long time after part 2 was. And for vlogs I wouldn’t want to go back and rewatch just to remember what happened prior to this video. That hot take aside Imma still watch the hell out of this cause I love the vlogs. Much love
Sometime near the end of this video I met a Graham at the airport before his epic long flight. We talked of Macadamias, couldn't convince him to give my fighting card game (which I was at PAX to demo) a go though, maybe when he's got more time or once it's published. Nice bloke.
remember kids, parm-A for 'A perfectly reasonable way to address this national treasure', parm-I for 'I don't know how to refer to this breaded chicken situation'
i spent my teenage years on a farm. heard that koala sound quite often. it did however take a very long time to find out what made it. rather unsettling trying to sleep
Beej backing up there infront of the kowala was a little surprising. The popular beej meme doesn't lend itself to reacting to a predator making a frightening sound in a sane way. Perhaps The Beej is really "just" Beej after all. A perfectly sane normal person who just happens to be funny.
"the worst thing we could hit is a roo" Yeah, about that? Kangaroos will fuck a car up, often bouncing away practically unhurt. Several occasions where someone hit a roo, it smashed through the windscreen, and then in a panic, kicked the shit out of the driver
32:14 just a reminder; Graham got out of the shower, dried off a bit, set up his camera, started recording, and then got back into the shower to record himself getting out of it.
26:07 Google Maps did that to me once when traveling. I am 100% convinced that Google Maps does not take into account pavement or speed limits when determining the best route. (In my case, we got rerouted off of a highway and onto a very disused dirt road that cut through a military base. Because it was just a few minutes faster. It was not.)
They do look at speed limits, but they don't take into account the condition of the road, including the surface or how much you might have to slow down for turns. In their case, they were possibly on a road without a posted speed limit, therefore the speed limit is 100km/h. Going that fast would be a bad idea.
lol the road my sister lives on was only paved afew years ago, and it was a much worse road then the one in this ep. I found that section hilarious. Also vicky is greener, but overall not that diff from qld by the looks of things.
Wait, how old was P when you guys took er to Aus? Is she nearly at school age? Can't be. Ugh, Time, why you pass by so much when there are young children around? Also, what did Ben eat at the restaurant? "Footage not found" I guess. =P Blurg. Gross travel times. I was wiped just watching your snippets. Wait, activities?...
Y'know the actual most aggressive hazardous creatures you'll find in Australia are those sorts of shitty territorial birds that swoop at everyone so Ben's really got his priorities straight with what to be weary of here.
Supermarkets only carry the most basic lines of specialty goods (like SD cards)... A tech shop like Dick Smiths, JB HiFi or Harvey Normal would have been your best bet... oh well things to know for when you come back in 2 years time and once again require SD cards... also worth noting that in the game of Car vs Kangaroo; the car always loses
@@felixfriedlander4127 Oh that sounds lovely then! I'm not allergic but do have family that are I just don't like the taste of chocolate and nuts together. Apart they are great but at the same time they never taste right to me.
The worst thing you can hit is a wombat. This is a species that’s method of self defence is tricking predators to run into their butt. Thus the technical term for what a wombat will do to your car is “mess it up”.
@@Grimwear Dry is probably a more accurate word, as mentioned in the video kangaroo has nearly no fat so for people that are used to those delicious oils it doesn't quite fill the palate on it's own. Has good flavour when used in a dish or sausage though.
