Its never a waste of time to clean the tracks no matter how big or small of a company you are , one loose rock can kill someone . Chaining to the frame of a machine is always better but the tracks are ok also
Two points to live by. One, if there is more than half the tracks or wheels are hanging over the sides outriggers are mandatory. Two, if your hauling a dozer with a blade 12 feet wide or more. The blade must be loaded to the rear of trailer. Couldn't see it well enough in video. But one of the dozers they drove on forward looked like it had a 12 foot blade.
The driver wouldn’t be able to see the guy guiding or the trailer the guy guiding is on a platform that is secure and he is holding on tight but ya kinda scary
This is team work, and Hevey heavey Equip. like an a operators. that operate these big ones doing their job for all , the roads we all drive on and enjoy , somuch is taken for the seens!!!
hellbilly hellraiser Thats a old wise tell the air going down the exhaust isn't enough to spin the turbo I've been pulling RGN for 4 years never once had a problem
With the baffles in the muffler on most exhaust systems as well as non direct travel for air around curves and bends in the exhaust pipe. It's extremely unlikely that you'd ever Spin a turbo on a new machine. I've never had it happen in 12 years.
@@brian2826 what ever dude some they make exsuast socks just for equipment haulers cat or john deere will void warrantys i been in bus^business over 40 years
@@markm1964have you actually ever heard turbo bearings being damaged by dry spinning because of windmilling? , not in my 45 years moving equipment ….. old school thinking that I’m glad is fading away
Is hooking chains to the track the usual thing to do? I've never been involved in loading heavy equipment, but it seems like it would be better to hook to eyelets on the body of the machine. Maybe hooking to the track is in addition to eyelets.
You do not chain to the tracks on any piece of equipment they can and will move and they bend very easy (learned the hardway bent the hell out of a track on a d7 wide track) theres always better and actually faster ways than a binder from the track to the side of the trailer.
@bleedeye101 Yah its prety common at the company i work for we use the tracks to tie down the equipment and if theres eyelets then we use them but the tracks seems to work good havent lost a machine yet.
ingermany its forbidden to save tracked vehicles at the tracks with chains or anything else. they`re not created for load saving. you have to lock the chains anywhere at the frame or the shield or the cabin if the producer says in his instruction book that its ok.and what should you do at loading when you have a semitrailer with a height of 80cm and a construction site where the fllor isn`t plain and the tracks are muddy or snowy.
Making a good point about center of gravity with these machines but to control that you cut the angle on the ramp coming up using wood blocks and old mud flaps or conveyor rubber..that way the tracks are never up in the air and come down hard which can spit a track roller? maybe im fron another planet but thats how i did it and never lost one
the people who produce those safety instructions do only think theoreticly and have no clue how hard it is to lead a own small company. you can`t wait for better weather or clean up the tracks in front of loading or anything else.if you do so at each site, you can close your company after a few month when cash has ended.
11 years ago you “might” get away with hooking to track 2023 will get you a violation every time Did you notice how much that shoe moved as he was tightening the binder? Imagine what would happen if you were rolling and had to perform an evasive maneuver. I’ve seen em snap off
Routing on permits is not the responsibility of the drivers ,,, even owner operators. You call permit company and let them know what you're hauling and it's weight and dimensions and where you are going to and from and they figure out all the particulars.
Good to know. I'm leaving LTL and starting construction this summer. First time lowboy driving for me. I'm looking forward to it but a little nervous even though I've been driving for 5 years...
@@nerdyclown6393 It went very well for me although my company trained me for one day Haha. I had to learn a lot on my own, especially loading the equipment on myself never having seeing the machine before in my life, but was successful. If I had to give any advice it would be to make sure you take your time and really think about what your doing before you do it!
and if every thing is save, no one destroys something, injures himself or others, for what the hell is there a medicall equipment and recovery industry for hundrets of billions of billions of dollars! what will then all the people on the overcrowded and unemployed doctors and nurses do!?
the way i do it is,,,,if its a short move,,(haul),,,i'll just boom the tracks down,,,,,but if its a long move,,(haul),,,i'll boom the tracks down and chain the rippers down and the blade,,,,,i really dont like useing a chain cause the chain gives,,,,it streches and ratchet booms dont
I do heavy haul I never have spotters seems people are too sorry to spare 3 minutes of their time but when you run over the owner of the construction company you're delivering to you're the bad guy
