In this video we refurbish a pair a pair a pair of Made in England 1880 Loake Shoes from an old leather sole to a new Dainite Sole and matching heels.

Great video. Great shine too - Sebastian can shine my shoes any time! I’ve had several pairs of Loake shoes over the years, and found them very good. I also like Church’s and Cheaney shoes - I don’t know if you can get these in the USA, though - I’m in the UK.

We do get them here sometimes but not very common. I don’t everyone who carries them in the US but I remember seeing a few stores when searching online

How much does it cost to do this job? I have a pair of church's shoes that need the soles replaced and I was contemplating something similar to what you did on these

Yes most of the shoes we get in are Goodyear welted and some of them we replace the welt doing a hand welting

How is th3 Danite sole as far as wear goes will it last 3 years plus? Anybody advice thanks

It depends on how often you wear them, conditions and your wear pattern. I’ve had some who wear these out in just over a year who tend to drag there feet. Normally you should have these last close to 3 years give or take

Hi I’m Mark from England UK , I must point out putting rubber soles on a pair of Loakes is basically a criminal offence, Leather soles with a new leather insoles would of been much more comfortable.

You can buy Loake shoes with Dainite (or something similar, I forget which). I can't see the problem. Living in England with the rain etc I'd go for Dainite every time!

I'm from't The Great North, you can definitely buy Loake shoes (and many other hand made British shoes) with modern rubber soles. The Loake "Artist" range even have a painted leather sole with a stitched-on rubber sole. Proper winter sole!
