Learning to use a lobster Looper or noose. First Dive I was having no success and then my buddy explained that the wire loop needs to be bent so the loop hangs down - makes all the difference!
Takes some time to learn to use a new tool.

I like the lobster net that you are using. Did you buy that or just make it? If you bought it do you know the brand?

I made it from a few hub caps found on the road for the hoop and a pvc pipe and some fishing net. Thanks

Once I learned how to really catch these by hand ,I am much happier when j leave the water .I missed alot before I found out the secret to catching them.

as I understand it is illegal to fish for lobster with nets and sticks it has to be just by hand no other tools allow in California (I don't know where these guys are though)

Thanks for the comment. This is in Florida where nets and tickle sticks and loopers are all allowed. We aren't allowed to spear lobsters here.

Frank Leopo it’s perfectly legal everywhere else. Some places your allow to spear even but only during prescribed seasons. Not as easy to hand catch like California due to your cold water which slows them down a bit.

with the loop closed it acts like a tickle stick. easier to slide it behind the lobster, than open it to snare the tail.AGGGGGH

yeh it looks amazing! I'm on the other side of the world in Ozzie i was curious as we can't use tools here to grab lobsters the rules+penalties are way too strict unfortunately for us
