yup. my little brother doesn't like lobster, crabs, or shrimp. he says it's because he doesn't like eating bugs, and they are just bugs that live in the ocean. they are bottom feeders and eat all the dead stuff off the ocean floor, so i can understand him and other people not liking them for that reason. i personally love shrimp, but don't like crab and lobster. part of it is the price, especially when you think about the amount of actual food you get from something like a blue crab, and the other thing is because we live in the desert, so we don't have access to any of that stuff while it's fresh. but shrimp freezes better than most things, and it's easy to freeze, so it's better than the others. i'm also not as much of a fan of fish as you would think if you knew how often i went fishing, and how often i kept and ate the fish i catch. i do like some fish, like catfish and trout every once in a while, and there are some ocean fish that i do really love, but most just aren't that good to me. like when people talk about how nice and flaky a fish is, they are probably talking about a fish i either don't like, or that i think is just ok. i like fish that you can easily be grilled, fish that you can cut into steaks, firmer fish that doesn't flake or fall apart so easy. tuna, swordfish, shark, these are the kinds of fish i really like. it's like when someone cooks ribs and the bones just fall right out. fuck that. i want some texture, i was expecting to eat ribs not pulled pork. i mean a big part of eating ribs is to gnaw on the damn bone, don't steal that happiness from me you sadists lol but ya, crab and lobster in the desert is a solid no from me, and firm fish is usually good, but flaky fish is a nope
