Girlllllllll, don’t underestimate the power of castor oil! I did a low bun once and didn’t put edge control because I was setting it overnight, but the JBCO held me ZZZZZOWNNNNNNNN 😂💛
love your hair! just one thing...*any* type of manipulation is putting stress on the hair that includes "protective styles". You can do rewrapping instead of retwisting after every wash . sorry just a couple cents. Peace!
I wanna ask if your locs don't end up flat instead of rolled out and round if you don't retwist? Mine do and I don't know how to fix it. Please advice me.
Hey there! I actually experienced this a long time ago with my locs. When it was time for a retwist, I would focus palm rolling the entire loc down to try and reshape it back to its rolled out and round look. It was an extra step for me during retwisting, but it helped persevere the shape of my locs. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🙏🏾🙏🏾 hopefully this helps! Let me know if it works for you 😊❤️
Yes & I love my new journey.I think I will dye it by june by then my hair should be long in the back...I will watch more of your videos on getting up with the maintaining my hair.
I have a silk pillow case and I typically sleep with a silk scarf!! When I am retwisting I try to “loc smith” and wrap the new growth within my actual loc. This helps me minimize my frizz ♥️♥️
I just tried to count my locs lol it was a fail as I don’t have any scrunches but from what I counted so far before I gave up is 108 lol I think I have about the same amount as yours lol . Anyway when u were in the starter loc phase did u just retwist the root or the whole loc ??? I feel not retwisting the whole loc would make them thicker right ? Anyway lol I just saw a peak into my future seeing your locs lol
Haha, I need to recount mine! It’s been so long, and I’ve combined a few of my locs into one. That said, I def feel you with estimating the amount of locs you have 😭😭😂 I assume I’m in the 120 ish range. Also when so started my locs I only focused on the root! I also think by doing this, it helps the locs thicken. Once my locs became more mature (3-4) years ago, I started retwisting the roots down to the loc. Once your locs are fully mature, I think you’ll switch to doing that as well. This way you’ll be able to catch the fuzzies with the loc. However for now, just focusing on the roots are fine. Haha, and I’m glad you were able to feel this by taking a look at my locs. 👩🏽🦱💖✊🏽✊🏽
So you wash it and just don’t retwist it ?? I’ll have to try it ... it’s hard when you’re an athlete ... sweat often have to wash my hair and then if I don’t retwist it after washing it look bad to me
I just wash and don’t retwist!! Especially during the pandemic I haven’t found the need to retwist my hair. However if I feel the need for a more sleek look, I will retwist the first row of locs on my head.
@@JasmineCeleste oooooh see the first row that’s a smart move ! I’ll have to try that out cause I’ve been fighting avoiding that wash cause I didn’t want to retwist my hair twice in one month my bday is next week and I wanted a retwist and style .. but after that I’m gonna do what you do .. if I decide to I’ll retwist the first row thanks !!
Yes let me know how it works out girl! Also, if you want your scalp to be freshened up a bit, you can take a cotton pad with witch hazel and pat the itchy parts of your scalp ;)
@@JasmineCeleste oooo yes !!! I need all the tips I can get thanks !! I’m new to locs it’s been one year and 5 months for me so I’m taking all the help !
