I love freshly washed hair...it looks, feels and smells clean. Plus clean and moisturized hair grows. This is why I am a weekly washer with my sisterlocks now.
When I was working out consistently I was light washing once a week and deep cleansing every other week. I think it really helped my hair loc a bit faster and I just liked seeing it elongated 😂
Sis, you nailed it! I have been saying the same thing for 3 years. There is no way my locs would be healthy without my regimen and conditioner. Great video, tfs!
Thank you for this. I agree I don’t understand where conditioner has gotten such a bad rap. I hear folks say “conditioner is a detangler” and I’m like 🤦🏾♀️. Yes it can’t help detangle but the primary purpose is to replenish nutrients and protein which our hair loses over time. We still need to keep the individual hairs inside the loc nourished. For those that say they can’t wash it out, may be using too thick a conditioner. Again, great advice. You are cultivating a beautiful set young lady!
All locs can tolerate conditioner. All that has to be done is to water it down some if one feels they won't be able to wash it all out. Put it in a squeeze bottle and add water to it.
I’m glad you mentioned the manipulation factor and how it can affect shedding/breakage. I love braid-outs and twist-outs but when I see those tiny hairs lining my sink I get in a funk...thinking that could be hair that would help with my volume. But your RIGHT! BRAIDOUTS are a whole vibe. It can be a catch 22...LESS is ABSOLUTELY MORE WITH LOCS. Thanks for another wonderful video! 🥰
Thank you for your support and feedback! Yes! My sink was covered in little pieces of hair like never before with my last braidout and that’s when I knew. I hope to discover some cooler ways to style as my hair gets longer but we will just have to wait and see or I’ll get creative 😅🙏🏾
Love this video, I dyed my locs at 4 months and again at 7 months. I had little hairs everywhere! I put an aphogee treatment and it saved my locs from breaking. I recently got a hair steamer. I can't wait to use it. Keep the great content coming! ✌🏾❤️✨
Chhhhille your locs are growing and looking gorgeous may I add!! Funny I just finished washing my locs and before I did I hesitated because I wasn't sure if I was washing too often. Then I thought about how nourished my locs feel after washing, hitting them them with my leave in, and putting a bit of oil on them and decided to go with it. This was perfect timing and confirmation in a way that I am on the right track. Thanks again for a bomb video!
Thank you so much for watching and providing the awesome feedback❤️🥰. The best part of locs to me is getting them wet whenever I feel like it and them feeling all healthy and full of life. As long as your hair doesn’t feel stripped completely of all it’s healthy oils you’re good. Especially depending on your hair type and lifestyle.
Well conditioners don't work for me at all. It leaves too much residue .. I only use shampoos water and oil and my hair is very moisturized. And conditioner is a detangler so it kinda defeats the purpose of locs 🤷🏾♀️ but everything isn't the same for everybody.
Conditioner is a moisturizer that aids in detangling. Also conditioner can be water based leave in like I use because all natural hair needs moisture. If water and oil works best that’s awesome, however people with low porosity hair like myself need more than that for healthy hair. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾
I hope i have a successful journey bc i too dont like to manipulate my hair much except when i style it other wise im just there nd do normal routines nd yea
Thank you! Not at all. It seemed slow because my hair was budding and locking between maintenances but shrinking into itself. I get about a half an inch every two months and the reties stretch for a day then shrink.
@@JordanCemone ok that makes sense thank you for clarifying because my stylist told me since my hair is still locing (a year and 2 months) that my new growth could be slower because it’s busy budding and going through the interloc process. My new growth is similar to yours in terms of the amount of it in a two month span. So, nice to know that it’s just how my hair grows and not that it growing “slower” cause of the loc process.
Your locs are looking good, as always. I need to go back to your products video. But odd topic, can we talk about your teeth? They are looking awesome!. Very obvious change even without you deliberately displaying them.
Do you wear a shower cap when you're not washing your hair ? There's been people who said the shower moisture helps the locs form. What are your thoughts?
I never wear a shower cap simply because I know with interlocs I didn’t have to. I think the steaminess serves my locs well for sure, I just pull them away from my face.
Hi! Welcome ✨😊 You need conditioner regardless to keep your hair moisturized but you don’t have to apply it heavily. Conditioner and water in a spray bottle with a light rinse is cool too.
@@staywoke9238 wait can you explain again so when you wash your hair down wash the ends just let it run down the hair and then use a towel to like scrunch it dry ?
