Dear, please get a loc wash basin! It’s a great tool for soaking your locs in water, and whatever else you may put in it, such as apple cider vinegar. much more comfortable. You lie on your back, it has a comfortable notch for the neck. You can read, meditate, nap all while soaking your locs.
When I had Alot of product buildup, I washed my hair with rosemary and wormwood... But really the whole thing was rice, coffee, rosemary, wormwood and neem but wormwood really cleaned the mess out my hair like my loccs were weightless
I be tryna retwist my hair sometimes but it seems like product doesn't work as far as jams and gels so I'm now seeing mousse can do it so I'm looking for examples because I used mousse before I locced my hair
Thanks for posting your loc tutorials, and showing us that we can look classy while having locs…. You actually inspired me to loc over a year ago. I’m now 15 months into this loc journey and I’m enjoying the process… So thank you so much I greatly appreciate it may JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH bless you and your household.
New subscriber! I am three years loc'd and grey in the front! Every time I get a retwist my scalp is extremely itchy! My locs are thinning in the front too, so I will definitely be trying to retwist without gel! I have not had a retwist since October, to give my scalp and locs a break!
Salt and pepper hair is gorgeous, I love the look, I will look into retwist with no gel as my hair is very itchy afterword, great tip. But my hair still grows.
New subscriber! Your locs are amazing! I don’t use gels anymore on me or my clients for years now. The retwist last just as long as it does with gel. You can always use gel on the edges only if that bothers you about your edges being laid
I think I’m going to do this . The gel I had been using for months I thought I was safe til I looked up only to see a little build up from it .. glad I fought it in time before it got bad !!!!
I LOVE YOUR NATURAL LOCS, I AM GOING INTO MY 2 YEAR MARK, AND I WILL LIKE TO COLOR MAYBE IN 4 YEARS BUT. I BELIEVE COLORING WILL STUNT THE GROWTH AND QUALITY OF MY LOCS, SO I DECIDED TO USE FANCY HEAD WRAPS AND JEWELS TO ADORN THEM. BUT ONCE AGAIN, YOUR LOCS ARE GORGEOUS!!
Hey luv!! Welcome and thanks for subbing!! It actually lasted the same amount of time as my normal retwist. It wasn't as crisp, but it definitely lasted.
So I’ve had grey hair since I was 12….I’ve been coloring it black for about 4 years now bcuz it got stronger. I’m not ready to go grey so I might just do white once I loc it but yours looks good on you
Wow!! It is so wonderful to actually see you on video! I had no idea that you were on RU-vid. I've seen a number of your pictures on Pinterest, and I believe that I might've saved one to one of my boards there. I hope that you don't mind. If you do, please let me know and I'll immediately delete it. Wonderful video! You are looking so lovely, my Beautiful Sister! 🌿💚🌿
Aloe vera gel and oils is best. I've noticed a lot of people have problems with their locs when they use gel... Is your color natural? I Love it! Also, I watch a loctician on RU-vid (Yannie the Loctologist) and she says the less you retwist the better for your hair so, if you're retwisting too often, that could be part of the problem as well.
Hey Luv! Yes, my color is natural. I've been grey for over 12 years. 🙂 I realized it was the Peppermint oil. My daughter noticed the same issue. We stopped using it and we're back to normal. I love Yannie!!! Thanks for the support!!
You loc’s are gorgeous!! I’m getting loc extensions in a few weeks and love your length. Would u mind telling me what length are they? Much appreciated.
I'm a new subscriber so I apologize if I'm asking a frequently asked question but what shampoo and/or conditioner if any do you recommend when washing locs at home?
I use a good clarifying shampoo (Neutrogena Anti-Residue or Nexxus Clean and Pure) plus a moisturizing shampoo (Design Essential Coconut Milk). I don't normally condition. Peculiar Roots has a great loc line as well.
Hey luv! I don't typically use gel to lay my edges other than the gel I use to do my retwist. I've trained my edges to lay down by tying my hair at night. But don't get it twisted, they get unruly...lol!
