LOCAL CARD SHOPS ARE VERY UPSET WITH TOPPS! HERE’S WHY… 

The card companies have been "destroying" the brick & morter card shops for the last 10 yrs. My wife & I ran a shop for 15 yrs. We closed up in 2015. The companies were forcing us to order 9 mos in advance w very little product info. They raised our cost while lowering the SRP (profit margin). There was probably another 4-5 changes going on in the industry that we decided to leave on our own terms (in the black). It's been 9 years and I still miss my customers but I sure don't miss the headache of dealing w the card companies or the secondary suppliers.

One of reasons is because there's WAY TO MANY products released.

It feels like everything is catered to the breakers instead of the lcs

Great channel. Good perspective. I got an LCS in Lancaster California and the owner told me he can't get any hobby from Topps since Fanatics took over. Sad state of the hobby

Topps used to make cards for all 4 sports MLB, NHL, NFL & NBA before Fanatics took over, and all were released during the current seasons. Composite is nothing more than glorified archives with 4 or 5 card designs since they been cards for that sport. Collectors will be going broke with massive release of different products. Fanatics has constantly screwed the collectors over for the sake of profit & holiday bonuses.

These sets suck. Bring back Turkey red and Cracker Jack. Tired of everything chrome.

The breakers and insides get their cards while players are hot and after topps uses the mom and pop stores money for 9 months, then they send them the outdated sets….

I don’t like when one company can be the only produce cards for that sport …. Don’t like the cards with missing logo and just retired players or ones that haven’t been in the mlb

Topps is releasing plenty of product. You just need to come to grips with the fact that Topps no longer produces just baseball cards. If a local card shop is only selling baseball as you keep alluding too, he is doing an injustice to himself and his patrons.

Stadium Club was printed in May. Fred Lynn showed pics of signing cards. Ginter is almost ready. Celebrity cards were determined in June. Next release is Five Star October 4th. Sell sheets are out for Fanatics/Topps Gold Star Card Shops. Breakers have the sell sheets. One slow down is Fanatics is trying to have fewer redemptions. Players taking time to sign cards.

LCS near me (30min away from Durham, NC) recently expanded to Kannapolis, NC. I went in last week for my first time this year and spoke with a gentleman who said he was their consultant. They are changing the store layout and making one side more of a lounge area to hang out, implemented a rewards program (finally), and he also mentioned they made $4M in revenue last year. I would have liked to know their profit/loss and margins. It seems lucrative, yet I am curious how much more difficult Topps, Panini, Leaf, etc. makes it to earn a profit and predict future releases. I'm certain many of their customers track calendar releases more than others and drive in from greater distances. E-commerce may be your best bet for now.

They're getting more and more licenses, Disney, marvel and so on, I sent you a thing from Topps announcing these other sets
