It's unbelievable how the council take ya money but ya get nothing back not even "physical help" 13,000 ain't gonna cut it and 10,000 per farmer "what a kick in the gut"

So they built a bridge many years ago, they recently refurbished the said bridge but refused to insure it because of costs. Now they want the local community to pay for it. I'm fairly certain that if the local Government opted to use $500 k to replace the said bridge a majority of Locals would be angry. During the interview it was stated that there are a lot more bridges that need to be looked at. I also would have though that it would be acceptable to liaise with the father until major decisions needed to be made. I also agree that local Government could be doing a lot better and don't understand why "The" Government have not offered the services of the Military to assist in reconstruction. Cost to be met by Government to cover military expenditure, local government and where applicable funding from those that require help. How hard is it to get a telephone line across the river for communication?

Gisborne council are slow and are not helping locals considering rates have sky rocketed , Stop giving yourself perks and help the locals. Get a new Mayor and new council board members.
