Local Knowledge - Fitting Snow Chains 

A trip to the snow is heaps of fun but the drive up to the mountain can be daunting. There are some simple steps to take to keep everyone safe when driving on alpine roads.
1. Drive within your ability, take your time and stay on left of the middle line (do not cut corners).
2. It is a legal requirement for all vehicles' to carry snow chains that can be fitted to your tyres as directed. WATCH THIS VIDEO TO FIND OUT HOW TO FIT THEM AND OTHER USEFUL TIPS.
3. If you drive a diesel car, fuel up with 'Alpine Diesel', available in many of the townships at the base of the mountains. Normal diesel can freeze in cold alpine conditions.
4. Drive with your lights on.
