This whole thing is strange. It's like one group (SS) assumed the other group (local police) took care of the perimeter security and vice versa, neither either group bothered to get confirmation from each other if that was done. The result was that neither group did what they were supposed to do.

The SS does not just say hey this area is all yours and leaves it up to whoevers outside organization to decide what to do. The SS is in charge of the whole show and says local police you will take x many officers and check traffic at point X point y and point z. They don't just block off areas on map and say hey Mayberry SD this is your section to secure as you see fit. The Secret Service is responsible for the security and coordination of this event from A to Z . Anything else they tell you is spin.

It seems that Trump himself was interfaring with his own protection detail. He was directing them, and stepped out from their protection, not to show his supporters that he was alright, not to check for himself that none of his supporters had been harmed, but to direct them to ''fight'', to fight what? Who? Anyone who opposes him. Just as he has had rallies in advers weather conditions, and in the middle of a pandemic allowing his supporters to come to harm, he does not listen to reason. But the secret service allowing him to call the shots, is a scar on their professionalism.

@@mikecrooks8085 - they were saying move now, move now, he was saying let me get my shoes, on the stairs he said wait, wait, then pushed them away to get his photo shoot, yes he was directing them and it was wrong, he got them to betray their training and it put him, them and the people around them at risk. This is a man who does not listen to the experts, someone who does not put anyones interests above his own. Now who was he suggesting they fight? Each other? No one else there, and as it transpired, one of their own was the shooter. I'd suggest I'm not the one who is blind here, but whatever.

So now you have me corrected and I see you are unhappy with what Trump did after the shooting was done and the would be assassin was dead. My apologies. I am sure Trump would take it all back, you know asking for his shoes and shaking his fist and yelling fight fight fight if he knew it would make you feel better. Maybe I am missing your point. Possession/use of a rangefinder is both stupid and irrelevant. First, he had pre-positioned the rifle so why not other 'tools', Significantly, at the range(s) to be targeted. a rangefinder is irrelevant/pointless. The point blank range (PBR) for 5.56x45mm NATO cartridges is generally considered to between 0 to 200-300 meters. This range is defined as the distance where a target can be hit without compensation for bullet drop, assuming a +/- 3-inch deviation from the point of aim. For a 5.56 carbine with a 50-yard zero, the maximum point blank range is estimated to be between 0 and 225-250 yards (approximately 204-229 meters), depending on the projectile mass chosen. Presuming that rifle had been even close to having been sighted-in somewhere between 50 and 125 yards, then a 6 in diameter (e.g. grapefruit) is within the ballistic trajectory, Which means that the mental acuity to this prep was substantially subpar (as too with the MSM's blurting heads)

@@WinstonSmith24 they aren’t explained in the news reports very well about rangefinders, but many people have no idea about them, and that they are telescopic so they magnify and are useful for things other than their primarily designed purpose: things like, simply getting a closer view of the president, giving the speech
