Locals Surf San Blas 

I first went to San Blas in 1966. Stayed at the El Colon Hotel at Mantanchen Bay. A group from the League of Spiritual Discovery , Timothy Leary's group, ( he was not with them) came and had LSD "experiences" in the jungle and beach areas the month I was there. There was no one around the bay at that time. Just the little hotel. Some guest got paranoid that the Federales were coming and flushed a kilo of weed down the toilet. The owner Pepe , an Argentinian, was pissed and grumbled about how dangerous pot was as he was cleaning up the mess. That was just a taste of a month in San Blas in 1966. I went back just before I was drafted in 69 and then with my wife in 71. Loved it and miss being there. p.s. The LSD guys had some DMT and I was fortunate enough to have smoked some of it. It is a intense psychedelic rush for maybe 10-15 minutes . You had to be sitting when you smoked it. Those were wild times. Glad I survived it all with half a brain. I'm stoned now. That's why I can't stop writing................. Pepe had a Massey Ferguson tractor sitting in the lobby of the hotel that he would pull cars out of the sand or mud. $3.00 for a VW and $5.00 for a Cadillac.

I have been there twice hungout there in 97 and 2001 stoners surf camp is freaking awesome!!!!! Can't wait to go back.
