Stopping at Loch Vale on the way to Sky Pond via the Glacier Gorge Trail is an absolute MUST DO in Rocky Mountain National Park. This is an easy hike and Loch Vale is a destination in itself if you are wary about hiking all the way to Sky Pond via the "waterfall climb. It can be easy to miss the best view of the gorgeous Loch Vale if you are trekking on Glacier Gorge Trail with Sky Pond as your final destination - so be sure to take a quick 5 minute break and snack stop on your way to Sky Pond to get the best views of Loch Vale.
