My grandfather was a signalman at Balquhidder. Lochaenhead had a turntable at its station, to allow locomotives to be attached to trains for return journeys to Crieff. The A84 stops at Lochearnhead and becomes the A85 running to Oban via Crianlarich. A number of years ago after the line was dismantled a couple on holiday both witnessed a steam train pass over the viaduct at Lochearnhead pulling carriages, when they told someone they were quickly assured the trains no longer ran here. Couple say they definately saw the train!

Thanks for your comment, and clarification about road numbers. I'm not very good at remembering road numbers as I tend to navigate by place names. The couple who saw a train on the viaduct may have mistaken Crianlarich for Lochearnhead, who knows!

Such a shame to hear of it’s demise especially given the effort taken to build the line. Very thorough and interesting presentation, enjoyed the video, thanks 👏🏻
