Here we have a rare glimpse of Lochgelly when it was a closely knitted town.It was the kind of place where you knew nearly everyone. In this home video you will see that The Minto Committee decided to go to Burntisland by train. On arrival at the park everyone was given a white box that contained a pie, packet of crisps, carton of fruit juice and a cake. The committee also indulged in some sporting activities for all its members and their bairns. The Sack Race, Egg n Spoon Race, The Wheel Barrow Race were just a few of the games the bairns took part in to win a prize. The mums and dads took part in the quick sprints and to end the day it was The Tug Of War that decided the strongest side. I'm sure you'll know someone in this video. It may be yourself when you were a bairn or your mum/dad or maybe your gran/di even. One things for sure i'm sure you or 1 off the family will know somebody. Enjoy bringing back those memories when Lochgelly had great community spirit.
