@@jack002tuber I just send the first loop back through the tail and then take the twist out and you don't need to send the long end through. Seems easier to me.
A bowline will only maintain about 25% of the ropes strength (i.e. if the rope had a maximum working load of 500kg then a bowline would reduce the strength of that rope to only 100kg). Whereas, with a splice, it will maintain around 90% of the ropes strength so therefore the rope that I stated earlier would only reduce to 450kg. A bowline would be more useful if you wanted to constantly undo it and re-tie it and can be undone very easily even after it is put under a large load however this knot makes the rope significantly weaker under large loads.
