It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that as of June 14th, Echo (this rabbit in the video) is no longer here. After a vet visit, we discovered multiple health complications and then had an emergency happen when I got home with her. She had to be put down, but was surrounded by love in her final moments. This is the harsh reality of owner neglect and she could still be here today if the owners did what they were supposed to. I will be making a video on her diagnosis and last days soon ❤ RIP Echo

This isn't even about ignorance. You don't have to have any previous knowledge on rabbits to know that MOLD in their cage isn't okay. It's neglect, and the owners just straight up not caring.

I was 8 when my parents got me my dwarf bunny. He lived for 5 years and I had no idea that his nails needed to be trimmed. I kept his cage clean and his water fresh and I took him out often to play for a few hours. I just wish I had known MORE. My sweet Thumper.

Don't be so hard on yourself! An 8 year old can't be expected to know how to look after a being when they're not old enough to look after themselves. Parents mean well but often don't do enough research when getting family pets, you did the best you could

This is horrific, this poor beautiful animal. This is pure animal neglect. Imagine living in a prison cell in your own exstament, on a concrete floor with no bed for 7 years. Poor baby this breaks my heart how can you say this is proper care or to be totally oblivious to this animals suffered. No wonder she's blind. The emonia from the urine would be enough to make her blind thank God you both found her. Thank God presious angle this totally breaks my heart. I am truly disturbed by the lack of care here. I'm lost for words. Thsnk God you have given her another chance to live the rest of her days clean happy and safe. God bless you guys massive thank you to you both ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰

I don’t think I have EVER seen such cruelty I cannot believe that the parents allowed this! I am bloody angry, upset and peed off, the food was completely dried up and the colour of the pellets had faded! I don’t normally write in the comments but this beautiful girl deserved better, she deserved a warm bed, food, hay, veggies and a bloody cage that gave her enough room to jump around! This is not just feeding her the wrong food this is horrendous I sat and cried when I saw her come running to you I know she is safe, warm, fed and loved thank you Austin for being a really great human being! ❤❤❤

And my dad had a rabbit who turned almost freaking 15yo he was one of the oldest rabbits their vets have seen. I made mistakes with my first 2 hamsters and I will forever be sorry they died early because ℹ didn't knew better, but ℹ wasnt hurting them nor did they leave poorly or unloved. So its disgusting to see how a rabbit could survive in this nasty cold ugly cage. . I feel for him and all the pets that are mistreated. Thank you for saving her ❤❤❤❤

my bunny was in a similar condition before i got him. he was severely underweight, never ate hay before, never had greens or fruit, nails were so long they fell off, stuck in a dirty x pen barely opened with a small cage attached as a litter box that was so filthy it was black with pee and poop, and a massive chunk of dried up eye juice in his fur right under his eye with raw skin underneath. they were also allergic so he was never pet and he’s blind so he really needs touch. for 13 years he was in these conditions and it breaks my heart to think about it every time because he’s so sweet and cuddly. they really do change and thrive when they get the proper care and respect. i know he probably won’t be here for too much longer but he’s my little old baby. you guys saved her even if it was for a short time, you showed her love and care. that’s all that matters now🩷🎀

My friend rescued a rabbit from her brothers roommate a couple years back. She had nowhere to keep him, so delivered him to me. He was in a 2×4 ft cage, which i was told is what he LIVED in full time for two years. The floor what nothing but shit and piss- inches of it. The food and water dishes were also full of shit. But thankfully his health remained, and he made a full recovery. His name is Benajmin, and he has a whole bedroom to himself with plenty of fresh veggies.

She had what they call 'cage aggression' which is common for rabbits who live in too small cages. This because they feel trapped and unable to get away if they wish so they feel always on edge. Having a proper sized playpen and building trust is how to help rabbits with cage aggression which is obviously what you did. I am so glad she can finally get a nice playpen, proper care and love from a human. Once again you guys did such an amazing job saving yet another bunny❤

You can somewhat forgive people who had rabbits back in the 80s when people who kept rabbits didn't have internet, they relied on the dodgy parroting of pet stores on information for care, who sold the crappiest tiny cages and suggested they were fine (they were never fine and I'm fed up with arguing on it!) and minimal knowledge on their care in library books - but this, today?! OMG this made me cry so much! She seemed so stressed later in the video... But maybe rabbits are like people, when they realise they were living in a toxic space, in a toxic relationship, it takes a while to process and adapt - but it does get better :)

This upsets me because that rabbit was probably a christmas or birthday pet. The parents did zero research on how to take care of a rabbit and probably didn't care if it died or not. Reminds me of my aunt who got a puppy for her daughter when she was younger for Christmas then that dog spent its whole life outside chained and my cousins would have almost screaming matches with each other on who had the burden of giving him food and water. That dog was so sweet and just wanted love. Unfortunately this was the early 2000s in a small rural town, not much could be done and it sadly froze to death outside in an ice storm one year. I think he was 15... He was fed/watered, he wasn't skinny, he had shelter but that was all he really had so even if it had been reported I doubt anything could have been done.

R.I.P echo❤ I’m a 13 year old rabbit owner and I would never treat my rabbit like this. This is horrid and absolutely sick to treat a rabbit like that. Echo looks like my old rabbit I used to have X sadly he died due to a disease and we did all we could to try save him but knowing I couldn’t do much broke my heart. Sadly we didn’t realise untill it got really bad but we went to check my rabbit, the one I just talked about was my younger sisters rabbit, and now I’m talking about mine, So I had a rabbit, my own. Very first rabbit, I spent all my time looking at the internet, finding out a lot about rabbits. I saw the photo of him and he was the odd one out of the others as he had multiple pelt colours where as the others where just black and grey, the rabbit I was getting I named him pip after a therapy dog at school who really helped me called piper, Once I saw him in real life I held him and he was absolutely amazing I felt a connection with him as soon as I met him he was the best thing that has ever happened to me. Unfortunately once we found out bubbles (my sisters rabbit) got a disease we had to put bubbles down. R.I.P Bubbles And we decided to check pip out, he didn’t look like he had it AT ALL his eyes were a slight pink already from the white on his pelt/fur, I loved him so much. And I couldn’t let go. When we took him there they didn’t take a close up. They were so far away. He was running in the small box and looked so happy.., and they said he had it. I cried my heart out and held him in my arms. I didn’t let him go fir a while. I dashed out the door and stood outside crying, I fell to the floor and started to hyperventilate. After that I went on and off crying. Feeling depressed and now lonley. He passed in 2023 and it still feels like he’s with me. I got a new rabbit called flops (my PFP) and he’s still with us. He reminds me so much of pip it’s unreal. I cry everytime I think of him (balling my eyes out now), When I’m older and have my own house I want to do what you do, you give me so much inspiration and I can’t thank you enough for letting echo have love, attention and the best life he could ever want at the end. The people who treated her like that were absolutely horrible for not researching. The way these rabbits have passed is not technically our fault but I take all the blame on myself for it. The woman said she gave them the shots but never did. I’m absolutely sick at this woman. I want to go back to her place and argue so bad yet I can’t, I thank you so so much for what you do it’s amazing, you really are a kind man, I thank you again for your service. Sorry about this rant, and ty fir reading. This is technically a small vent yet also an awareness that you should keep an eye out and make sure that they have taken care of them and given their shots. Even a promise isn’t always the truth be careful where you get your rabbits from ❤ And to make this not a fully sad comment, here’s some funny moments of the brothers. So I forgot to mention 😅 There were 3 rabbits that came from the woman, they were all brothers and 1 is still with us today ❤ pebbles ❤ Funny moments: One time pebbles and pip jumped into their cage at the same time in same form and it was funny Cus they both looked at each other as if they were surprised 😂❤ Bubbles loved being held on his back like a baby and one time he jumped up onto me and nudged me and I eventually found out 😂❤ My bunny pip was so funny and so kind, he would lay next to me as if he was gaurding me whenever someone came in the room, he eventually got used to it and slept next to me unbothered by family coming in❤ I’m not too sure what else but thanks fir reading again and be sure to keep your pets safe ❤ Reading this back I’ve realised I probably shouldn’t have done this but if it’s too much idm deleting it from ur comment section ❤ -have a great day and be sure to have the most best day you can have. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

There is no way they didnt know those living conditions were insanely inappropriate and abusive. If they seriously know nothing i understand the stereotype in rabbits is they live in a cage and have a water bottle. But anyone KNOWS there shouldnt be pee and poo everywhere. Even if you are incredibly niave to rabbit care. Also like idk i would have thought they would have put it together for the house showing AT LEAST. This is ridiculous and they should never be allowed to own an animal again. Disgusting

I hate how small animals are so easily cast aside and seen as disposable. When dogs or cats are neglected like this, at least they sometimes have the ability to make their suffering known through "problem behaviours" like barking, destroying property, eliminating around the house, or becoming aggressive. A rabbit or rodent? All they can do is silently waste away and die in a literal prison cell among their own excrement. No one will never know. And as evidenced by the realtor's reaction in this story, even when people see it, they don't even realize it's wrong because most people just assume small animal + tiny cage = normal I've have a certain exotic rodent species* for 20 years and once rehomed one from a similar situation. They are extremely social, yet just one was living by herself in a tiny, dirty tank with a small, dangerous wheel and unsuitable food. She was also a child's pet in my situation who I drove over an hour to get. She passed away not too long after I adopted her, but I'm so glad I was able to give her a comfortable, enriched end of life with friends. * I don't like to name the species because their diet and care is widely undermined by ignorance and misinformation leading to much disease and suffering. I think they should just be wild and don't want people unfamiliar with them to hear about them from me and end up buying them. I continue to adopt and rehome them because I have so much experience with them

It does not matter the circumstances you could be the richest person in the world but if you have a pet and do not know how to look after it, you do research - there are enough books on the subject of animal husbandry, also the internet. I’ve never had a rabbit, but I’ve had cats, dogs, horses none of them can thrive unless they are receiving the correct care and nutrition

This makes me SO angry for this poor innocent rabbit. Can the owner not be prosecuted for animal neglect??
