The original plan was for Hank Hill to be Mr. Anderson's son and have him crossover into King of the Hill, but MTV wouldn't allow Mike Judge to use the intellectual property at Fox, so he had to end up making them unrelated and creating the Cotton Hill character instead. But he kept the rest of the character design for Hank that was already planned for the original idea

as a texan we did use my granddads ram 2500 to pull down a burnt down mobile home when we first moved to our property 7 years ago. it didn't come apart as easily though as there's did and my granddad had a larger truck. 😂
