How do these compare to the Yamaha Ql1? Are they more or less reliable? How user friendly are they compared to the Ql series?

Great Tutorial Andrew. just wondering.. did you break the busing to the main master from each input channel? now that all channels are assigned to groups. it's that right?

Hey! That is correct, none of the channel 'band' inputs are routed directly to the master bus. There are some channels that are routed directly to the master bus, walk-in music, VOG mic at FOH incase of emergency announcements or anything, oscillator channel for tuning PA etc.

@@GonzoAudioTips Hey, so sorry for the delay getting back to you. Yes I send the 'shells' group to both dry / crush busses for parallel compression. Both the Dry / Crush bus sum With the Brass bus at the "drum master" as I dont want the cymbals in the parallel compression :)

Hi Andrew. I am wondering why do you have the smaart mic in the console, and osc? I normally use my Focusrite to connect my rta mic and send pink noise to the console, then get the ref back via aux out. could you explain how do you use Smaart ? I may be asking for too much, only if you have the time to humor me. Thank you in advance.

Hey, so sorry for a 2 year late reply! At the time I was using the console I/O for smaart mic pre-amp + OSC (Ref) source. I would route this into Smaart VIA the Native UBMadi port on the console. The entire console is effectively a USB interface this way. I've done similar with Waves Soundgrid. I've since stopped doing this just to keep thins a little more separated / granular and I do so with a Roland Octacapture.
