god i am SO glad to know that i didn't hallucinate the farting butler...people always ask "are you sure??" but i remember my friend and i going on about it forever because as young children, this was peak comedy.
i seriously wish crystal dynamics would've put this as an easter egg where when you go to laras home in rise of the tomb raider for ps4 and where if you visit theres a closed fridge where you can open the freezer with a skeleton with a butler suit and a silver platter
it was in fact referenced in the dlc, in the form of a note you could find: "My Lord, I hope this missive finds you on a successful expedition and in good health. Before I bore you with estate affairs, I wanted to let you know that our Little Angel has been into some mischief. As always, I indulged her in our usual game of chess. Over the course of the game, she broached the subject of her mother. She's having trouble remembering her now and wanted to enter her Ladyships' Atelier wich you sealed off, to play on her mother's piano. It enraged her when she wasn't allowed to go in, of course. For someone so young, she has such strong emotions. Later in the day, she set a trap for me... in the walk-in freezer, of all places. Before I knew what was happening, I found myself locked inside. Mrs. Sheffield discovered me an hour later, shivering and somewhat peeved. It took us an additional hour to find Lara on the grounds. I know all her hiding places, of course, but this time she really did not want to be found. Call it years of observation, but I can tell when she's out of sorts. My lord, if I may be so bold... she misses you fiercely. She is lonely for her father. Please consider a call as soon as you are able."
All the butler wanted to do was serve y’all a good refreshing drink😂😂🤣. You could’ve just said no thank you instead of locking him in there... Oh wait no you couldn’t no matter how many times you’d tell him to fuck off by shooting him he’d still come back to serve you something lmfao
My friends and I used to spend hours playing hide & seek with this butler, pretty much the only reason to play this game. The groaning sound when you pass by him was indeed creepy and disgusting.
I played this today for the first time since I was a young child. Mum bought it for me from a game store that sells secondhand old games and I’m so happy. Love it so much!! I miss my childhood days and this really brings it all back.
Winston was like male version of mrs doyle from father ted who constantly nagged you for tea, lol. Winston:' Tea lara?'. Lara: ' TEA...feck'. Winston:' What do you say to a nice cup?'. Lara: 'Feck off cup'.
So crazy to learn that I wasn't the only one locking him in the fridge back in the day! The heart pounding moments of rushing out of the fridge and trying to press the button to close it before he got out! I also remember how glad I was that he couldn't get into that mini pool/bathtub thing in the bathroom and I could, just to get away from him🤣I wanna go back to the days when outrunning the creepy butler was the height of my worries, bro...
I wished Crystal Dynamics would have remade Laras House with the tutorial, the outside and of course the farting Butler 😂. And in the end he would lock us in.. or something like that.
*In Rise of the Tomb Raider, they made a reference to this gag. One of Winston's journals documented how Lara would set up a trap and lock him in the freezer.*
I remember after you locked him in the freezer another butler shows up with a target on the bottom of his tray. If you try to shot him he would use the tray as a shield.
@@larajolie8758 I'm not sure if the game had a glitch or something. I was suprised that no one in the comments spoke about, it seems that this only happened to me !!!!! LOL
Is there also anybody who locked the family members of sims in a room, put a facility right before the open fire place until the room stands under fire and then you remove the door? 🤣🤣🙈🙈 Or locked the Sims into the swimming pool and remove the pool ladder?
I hear they are going to patch in posters of this guy in place of the posters of Lara they took down in the remastered games. Because that's woke and therefore okay (and automatically sexy).
This is a great attempt at making people feel bad for my father. Don’t fall for it. That man needs to buck up and stop lying and figure out how to not be scared without the need of hurting others.
Honestly I never found him scary. Mostly because it was me and my dad who played the game and he thought he was funny, so I also did. Also having Winston around also helped make the mansion not seem empty.
Played these games just like everyone else here, loved the games but didn’t see what was so “cool” about locking him in the freezer... nothing remotely interesting even happened when doing this.
It's not that locking the old man in the freezer was "cool", it was that so many ppl THOUGHT to do it & did it, w/out knowing it was something others were doing too. There was no social media when these games came out so when we talk about doing these little things now, it feels huge because we thought we were the "only ones who did that!" I hope that made sense.
