This is the 3rd video is a exterior door upgrade series, featuring the Lockly Smart Touchscreen Keypad Door Lock with Bluetooth. The 1st video in the series shows how to install a Lockly Vision Deadbolt in a front door. The 2nd video shows my front door makeover featuring weather sealing drafty doors and painting it with an airless sprayer. The makeover was inspired by installing an amazing Lockly Deadbolt.

Or you can install the latch up top, then put a deadbolt in the bottom hole. Don't have to use it.. but it fills the hole and is there if want it.

Would some one explain to me why someone would spend the money that the Lockley lock cost and buy a door that has windowpanes right next to the lock so all they have to do is break the window and unlock the lock and walk in. Other then that great video

It would be nice to have a door like this with unbreakable glass. If you have a couple ferocious dogs, someone may skip messing with it.

One thing you could do is have a deadbolt on top like always only have the one that takes a key on both sides so you have to have a key to open the doors. I guess if someone wants in there are other ways to do it

Do you think it will be ok for a driveway metal gate. It’s going to be out in the elements and could not find any info if it’s water or weather proof?

I would think so. If you call their customer support line, you can get a person to talk to pretty quick, and they can answer your question.

Not to be too overly nit-picky, I believe you should have installed the door latch to the TOP hole, and covered the bottom hole with the blank plates. I believe it would have looked slightly better. Great video though !👍😊

I thought about doing that. The height of the door latch felt too high, but that's my personal preference. I have the official Lockly plate and will be making another video showing this door being installed very soon.

@@MarkThomasBuilder I've got a customer with a super custom home in Southern California...There's a pre entry doorway, not on the house but which leads to a small courtyard, before the main doorway to the house and this doorway is made of metal and glass. Presently, this doorway has a electric door strike which I'll remove and install this Lockly handle... I have 2 questions: 1) Do you know if this Lockly ( the same one in the video ) can be installed in a outside environment ? ( Southern California ) 2) Does the WiFi system within it need any other external communication links ? I'll be interfacing this with a Google Nest security system. Thanks !

Those are some good questions and I think Lockly could give you the most accurate answers. I called their help line and actually got a tech person to talk with fairly quick. Their number is: USA (669) 500-8835

Where Do U Order The Blank For Deadbolt Hole, My Front Door That I Will Be Installing My Lockly Pro Latch Edition Has A Deadbolt On Top To, But I Seen A Video That I Can Swap The Existing Deadbolt On The Bottom & Install My Lockly Where The Deadbolt Hole Is On The Top, My Place Is A Rental,When I Leave, I Will Be Taking My Lockly With Me & Install Back Landlords Locks

Correct, there's other models that have a deadbolt and a passage knob underneath. I made a video showing another Lockly Vision Deadbolt in a front door makeover.

If I bought this lock for my rental apartment would i be able to remove it when I need to move, or would it be stuck to the door?

I believe I had to do that on this door. I forget exactly how to do it, but the Bilt app explained it very easy.

Lockly devices are useless devices. Don't waste our money. I bought two of them. both the lock and the hub didn't work and technical support didn't know how to resolve the issues. I am returning them back to Home Depot. What a waste of time.

Wow, you have done a very bad job of it, it looks terrible with that hole cover. You should have fitted the unit using the top hole and then simply add a deadbolt lock to the bottom hole. You can even get a deadbolt lock that have a finger scanner, made by Lockly as well./
